From Crazy Crabbers:

My biggest problem is that Sergio Romo, one of the best non-closer relievers in baseball is treated like that really old can of soup in your pantry and that is only to be used when all the other food in the house has been eaten and it is 3 in the morning and the store is closed.

There's gotta be a reason. If a bunch of us armchair internet baseball geniuses see it, the Giants do too. So there's got to be some reason he's not used more, and we just aren't privy to it.

I defer once again to the guys with the rings.

Yeah me too. Especially since I haven't heard much griping from Romo in the papers (although I've been more caught up with the Sharks recently so I could be wrong). Usually, if someone is fully healthy and ready to rock, when they aren't getting playing time they make some waves.

You're definitely right, but that just doesn't strike me as Romo's personality. Obviously, I don't know the guy, and I agree that he must be banged up a little bit for this to be a non-story, but I just don't see him as a dude that goes running to the media. I could see him asking to sit down with Boch and Rags, but not wanting to be a distraction. I could certainly be completely wrong because, like I said, I'm basing this solely off of what I see on the field, and this is more of an off-field issue.

If we all continuously leave comments about it on Extra Baggs, then he's going to eventually ask Bochy or Romo about it and give us a response in one of his blog posts...I'm down if everybody else is.

Possibly, but until we see more consistency from Casilla when he is healthy, I think that is a dangerous proposition. The bullpen strength of this team is worth more to me than a solid, everyday shortstop at this point, and I see that feeling intensifying during the dog days of August.

I'm a casual Sharks fan...but my wife is a Vancouverite and my bro-in-law has been blowing up the phone with "neener" texts. Sharks really need to win game two to quiet him down.

Don't get me wrong, I think Romo is a key piece to the bully.

With 2011 looking like a second year of the pitcher - good pitching arms are the valued commodity and the Giants have a few to play with in order to make spots for everyone.

Mota has been unexpectedly outstanding this year and has provided the Giants with another flexible bullpen piece while at the same time creating an issue of finding places for all of them.

My 2 best friends are big Red Wings fans. Last year, when the Sharks were playing the Wings in the Playoffs, one of them texted me talking smack after one of the Wings wins, and my response was something like...

"You realize you can not win this argument, right? I could give 2 shits about hockey. But if you start this fight, and the Sharks win, I will never let you live it down. If the Wings win, I will forget about it tomorrow. Carry on, though, if you please."

He didnt send me any more taunting texts :)

Rightfully so, they're fucking good. The Sharks had one of the best months of professional hockey that i've ever seen, and they still finished twenty points behind Vancouver for the 1-seed.

I am loving these playoffs. I watched way too much NBA this year during the regular season, and now I'm burned out. I am loving the parity, action and strategy of the NHL. What the fuck is an iso play? I'm fed up with pro basketball. I need to learn how to skate.
