The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired defenseman Jason Garrison, the rights to forward Jeff Costello and a seventh-round pick at the 2015 NHL Entry draft from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for their second-round pick in 2014, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced today.

Well Eklund was right about this Garrison to Tampa rumor. I think this is a very good deal, nice job Stevie Y. A top 4 Dman, a prospect and a additional pick for the a 2nd round pick is a bargain i'd say. Like Garrison's puck moving ability, like the fact he's a PP QB and can add offense from the blueline.

It's a good trade jason garrison contract 5 million for 2014-2015 then 4.5 for 2015-2016 then 3.6 for 2016-2017 then 2.5 for 2017-2018. So his contract goes down as he gets older! cap hit is 4.6 which is fine because cap will keep going up. I think he becomes are second best defenseman one the roster behind victor hedman!
