I do not know why you can't believe it. Li is not that good a player. Who did she beat to win the AO? And which top player did she play to get to that final?

you have a point there, but she is #2 in the world!!! And you are right, she was lucky in Australia....she didn't have to play any top 20 player to win the cup....she was VERY lucky to win!

I agree.

I have higher expectations from Li than this. At least to either provide a more competitive match, or to go deeper.

In a best of 3 though, upsets are more likely to happen.

Graf lost in the 1st round of Wimbledon to Lori McNeal: 7–5, 7–6 (7–5)

McNeal did reach # 4 years prior, so at least she was pretty good.

#2 in the world? WTA ranking? The real # 2 is Vika. Do you actually believe that Sharapova is # 8 in the world if you go by WTA ranking?

I just want to see more consistency from the top players.

For example, between 2006 Wimbledon and 2009 FO, Jankovic made the 4th round or better 12 majors in a row. Jankovic might not be the best player, but I like that kind of consistency.

I wish Li and a few other top players could do that.
