Actually I would take a 3 and 3 road trip right now, but we are hot so who knows. If Lincoln gets going, it would be a major shot in the arm for the team.
MASN (Mid-Atlantic Sports Network) is on my TV cable system. MASN carries both Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles games. So..... I've been able to watch the Pirates on TV for the past two nights. Almost sorry about that. Hey, 2 games are a small sample size (thank Heaven for that), but.....
- The Pirates did NOT look competitive.
- Brad Lincoln did NOT look like a competent starter. (Many of us knew that, but his recent success in relief had some believing otherwise.)
- Kevin Correia did NOT look like a competent starter. (Most of us have known that for some time.)
- The defense did NOT look good.
- Despite his recent "improvement" with the bat, I (for one) will be ecstatic when Barmes is replaced.
Here's hoping the team gets back on track tonight and avoids a sweep.

thanks for the "first" hand observations.
not sure if you can remember what you saw, but i was only following on gameday on mlb.
it seemed that lincoln, when he was successful in the past, was pounding fastballs at the knees and using both sides of the plate.
this past outing, seemed like lots of curveballs, and most of them up. very little fastballs till he really got behind. not sure if that was a different catchers philosophy compared to the past, or i need 3 pitches because i am starting mentality, but.......
with a man on second, even slower ones, why is any hit to centerfield always a run against us. seems like there is rarely a throw. some of those hits are smoked and i am talking situations of < 2 outs.
does cutch have a shoulder injury, or is he looking to keep the error count down by throwing only to second, or does he play to deep?
