Chicago has lost 17 of their last 18 road games, and six in a row overall. If there ever was a team the Pirates should just beat the ever living crap out of each and ever night it is this cubs team.

I hate when my team starts a series against a team they should sweep and can't buy a run.

I hope the Pirates can do it since we are quickly running out of time this season.

Burnett and McDonald will be the two starting pitchers for games one and two of this series. Both are the most successful in the rotation, this season.

J-Mac has been hot and cold in the second half, though. Jeff Locke could start Sunday. I can't wait!

we are on a 2 game streak and ready to give it one last run for the money.

then 12-0, 7 errors, and 1 hit.
i feel so sorry for those actually at the game.
can anything worse go wrong other than an injury.

I blame being in San Diego. I won't be leaving town again until the last weekend in September, so the Pirates better finish winning enough games to break the streak by then.

Believe it or not, I think they played with too much pressure in front of the home crowd. You know damn well that the team recognizes how badly the city wants the consecutive streak to go down.

They all looked like they were too uptight. Bad fielding errors during the entire home stand, batters flailing at pitches out of the zone and pull happy approaches to their AB's.

Maybe the road will do them some good. One can hope, right?

Meh, don't feel too bad. The cubbies might have the North American record for most seasons sans a championship, but the Bucs have the consecutive losing streak.

Both are dubious distinctions.

I do think getting on the road will help. It would be nice to play well against Cincy and then go on to Chicago and sweep them right back. I don't have high hopes for hosting Milwaukee, but playing in Houston then New York should help.
