In one mock I drafted the punter in round 5 - already had a pretty good round 1-4 with several trades and a bunch of extra picks - so I figured why not.

They graded it an "F"....LOL

Whatever - best ST in NFL....

It would be indeed.

Kicker that can kick 60 yard FG's with accuracy, and a punter that can bomb 65 yard punts and totally flip the field. Younger long snapper and get that punter to be a great place kicking holder and you have a very young core that is just damn studly for 10+ years on special teams.

Don't you dare fuck with Clark Harris. That man is a treasure.... And his next bad snap will be his first bad snap. He can be our long snapper until he's 50 for all I care.

I honestly don't see what is wrong with picking a punter in the 5th round.... If the guy is so unique in talent (which I've read multiple times), he can be a real game-changer. Since 2015, our 5th round picks were CJ Uzhomah, Christian Westerman, Jake Elliot, JJ Dielman, Davontae Harris, Andrew Brown, Darius Phillips, Khalid Kareem, and Shooter.

So, we got a tight end that took 5 years to develop into a starter, two stud kickers, and a bunch of trash. I think an all-pro punter would be an awesome pick.

Wasn't Kevin Huber a 5th round pick?

Interesting. Huber has had a really nice career. But, I honestly thought he was going to be better than he was.... When I watched him at UC, I thought he had a chance to be the best punter in the league for many years.

He has been pretty damn good and pretty consistent. I would take that out of a punter. Now, take away his punting and remember his consistency in place kick holding!

If you give me another punter as consistent as Huber for 12+ years and he is golden with holding the ball, I would run to the podium with my 5th round pick and be happy as hell.

Don't get me wrong - I like Huber. He's had a great career. I just had unrealistic expectations after his days at UC.

Looks good to me

we have a little bit of a luxury, although I feel we are a bit thin at CB if there should be an injury.

At this point, I am thinking we can trade Bates for a 2nd rounder this year, and a 1st rounder next year.

Then maybe go Cine with our 1st pick.

Send him to the Jets for this years 2nd round pick, and next years 1st. They get their safety basically with a 2nd round pick who is one of the best in the league, without giving up one of their two top ten picks, which they can then use on Sauce and a DE or LB.
