I hear ya, but kids today have no clue about nostalgia or prestige associated with a school's program history. These kids probably heard of the Titles and John Wooden but not one of them has most likely ever read any of his books.
It's more than that though.
UCLA has money, shiny digs, state of the art facilities. Russell Westbrook and Kevin Love coming back to campus.
Look at Louisville and Arizona. They were basically branded cheaters and they have the #1 and #2 recruiting classes for next year.
You still have to pick the right kids and build a consistently winning program. But UCLA should never be 15-16.
The problem with UCLA is they were stuck in between one and done and building a 4 year program.
