Looking forward to seeing Graveman's first outing as a Mariner and following TJ surgery. He looked good during the short Spring Training and his Intrasquad game showed a decent fastball in the 95-96 range. Hoping he becomes a well needed asset in our starter line up.

Let's see if games continue, now that they have canceled Marlins-O and Yanks-Phi game. How will the commish act and how will players respond today.

I wonder what will happen if players on different teams come down with the C-19 virus. Will the whole team need to quarantine for 10-14 days? If C-19 starts effecting different teams, does that make this a VERY short season? This could get real crazy :noidea:  I'd be curious about what any of you might think about this. Any opinions??

Its not good... Best case scenario is it is contained to the Marlins organization. If the tests show it spread to the Phillies then things will get hairy.

We really need to get Tim Lopes more starts at LF and give him more recognition this man played very well in AAA last season and came into spring training tearing it up. With his first start last night he went 3-4 scoring two runs in this short season he should get a ton of at bats.

I like Lopes bat, but unfortunately he is just another infielder M's trying to turn into a major league OF. That first defensive play he didn't make showed the difference between a major league OF and a guy trying to play OF in the majors. If Long doesn't start doing more at the plate and in the field, I would love to see Lopes at 2B.

Shed Long - With you on this. I'm concerned he's not a long-term option. Small sample size though.
Mallex Smith - I'm starting to think I was wrong being excited when we acquired him. I don't understand how a guy with his athletic ability can be so awful in the outfield.
Gordon - Agreed. I feel bad for the guy because 5 years ago he wouldn't be relegated to the bench.
Crawford - I was surprised to see how quickly he could fly across the bases.
White - I could tell there were times he was overwhelmed by elite pitching, but that's part of learning. Really excited about him though.
Lewis - Trying to find a reason to disagree with you somewhere, but I'm on the same page. I've also noticed he's done a lot better at controlling the zone.
Seager - With the way he hit in the second half last year and has hit thus far, there is a possibility there could be a trade market for him.
Vogelbach - As I said in another post, it pains me to say but I think we're best off moving on. He has no value in the field and can't run. Only reason to keep a guy like that around is if he's a legitimate threat at the plate, which he hasn't been for a while.
Catcher - Fingers crossed for when Tom Murphy comes back.
LF - Who?
Pitching - I think it's what we anticipated.

Be careful, agreeing with me too much is not good for your baseball acumen rep. :nono:

Whoa... Gravemen looks GOOD!

Explosive upper 90s fastball and 1 perfectly placed cutter in that 1st inning.

If this is any indication of what we have with Graveman, we've got one hell of a pitcher!!

White's first in the bigs HR kinda makes up for Seags DP. Sacks juiced wasn't a total waste after all.

Stros mgr must be taking lessons from Servais as far as handling the pitching staff.

Well that was a fast 4th for the M's. Would be sweet if we could end up splitting this series though. :D

Well at least they won one game down there its a small victory, lets see how they do against the Halo's now..

Side note Astros need Springer to find his swing or that could be an issue for them
