Yep, it was strange no doubt. At least is was good to see live baseball again even though it was inter squad stuff and not the ancient re-runs. Lewis has some power!!

Hypothetically, were the M's to make this postseason, would you consider their postseason drought over?

Personally I wouldn't.

How big would your asterisk be?

162 games vs 60 games is hard for me to accept they've earned losing the streak.

No asterisk at all cause all teams are playing the required 60. You think Yankee fans would turn their heads the other way if they won the WS only playing 60 games? I would say probably not as they celebrate another trophy going into their case.

If the Yankees win this whole thing and pretend like its equal to all other world series victories, yeah, I'd say it's not.

I'm just saying I think there would still need to be a playoff appearance in a full season to make me feel like that streak is fully behind this team.

I get what you're saying but after 20yrs I'll take what I can get.

I get what you're both saying. It's sad, but I hate to admit it but......after 20 years, I too, would take what I could get, but I'm not really expecting to get that much anyway in a 60 game season. Just looking forward to checking out the pitching staff and seeing some of the young talent make their statement. Like I said before, it's better than nothing---the 60 game thing.

yes. Odd situation but I also dont think the 81 Dodgers or 95 Braves care about a short season title.

I am a little surprised Root isn't televising the practices. I would prefer watching it instead of these 1999 games and such. I haven't tried the Youtube yet.

I wondered that also, but just figured there must not be any money in it for them to televise the games maybe? With no revenue coming in from ticket sales etc. ownership, including Root Sports, might be the reason. Money pretty much drives everything. :D

Too me a trophy in the case is a trophy in the case. All teams had 60 games for a shot at the post season.

No kidding, I tried viewing it on YouTube and can only get the prior games. I’m not a technological wizard but it asks me to subscribe and every other subscription I get hooked into costs me money. I already have given the Mariners money to watch their scrimmages with my cable bill.
