here is an article that gives the travel and number of back to back games for this year and the previous two.
How far will your favorite team travel this year? Check the 2010-11 NHL Super Schedule! - On the Forecheck

The table in the article is sortable but I don't know how to post just that, so I did not try.

Kings travel is way down this year. I think it has to do with the Kings being on the road for almost the whole month of February. NBA All Star game and the Grammy's are in town and have booted the Kings.

This year, the Buffalo Sabres face the greatest burden there, with 22 back-to-back sets, whereas the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks have the fewest with 11.

Oh what the fuck man!

I looked at the Sabres schedule when I was visiting my son and said "God Damn It" the Sabres have over 20 B2B games AGAIN. He said WTF it seems like they are always in the top three.

That suck's big time !!!! Every fucking year ?

It has to be that the Eastern teams are geographically closer so B2b games are easier to schedule, plus that it's the Sabre's so who cares!J/K It's all a plan to wear out "The Miller"!

I dont know if the B2B games bug me as much as the b2b road games. I think they should only schedule a team b2b games if both are home so. It sucks when you go from Montreal to Philly and the team waiting on you is on a 2 day break.

You cannot wear out The Miller you can only contain him. :)

Seriously, I would rather travel more miles than have B2B's. What's another 500 miles on a jet, one hour?

Oh well I'm done bitching but being a Sabres fan I'm used to it.

True, I think think B2B games suck and obviously all teams need to deal with them but it seems we always have so many.

For teams that play each other 6 times I really dont know what they cannot play two games in a row against those teams. That would really cut down on travel.

longest road trip is 5 games ... twice ... not too shabby

yeah, not too bad this year. one of those roadtrips is the Mtl - Tor - Ott swing, which is always fun anyways.
very low on the b2b scale too.

I am surprised how SJ is usually well above 50,000 miles, considering they have 2 conference teams in their own state.

11 back-to-back games!! I'm so sick of the NHL practically handing the Oilers the Cup with their easy schedule! ;)

That's a friggin big state...

still smaller than Alberta by about a third.
I would think Calgary's overall travel would take a dip if there was another NW team in Red Deer.

Sharks schedule is always brutal in terms of mileage. The back to backs are tough but I wonder if they could calculate how often a team gets the benefit of playing a team on the second leg of a back to back. That would be interesting.

there was someone in the swamp who pointed it out ever time the Pens had one of those.
seemed like a lot, but I certainly didn't do the research vs. other teams.
