Id like to hear Ruff's reaction.
He said he's not surprised that Leino may get suspended and wants to see Marc-Andre Bourdon get something as well.
I haven't seen either hit, but Gerbe will be out with a concussion for awhile.
I thought that deserved something esp seeing the ref called a penalty right away and they guy was injured. It was a nasty hit.
Some of the media made it sound like Shanny was going to give Marc-Andre Bourdon 2 games for the hit, but I don't think that's likely considering the Flyers already played the Pens with no action taken.
I'm not surprised that people are more concerned with Ruffs reaction to Leinos suspension.
I was surprised that the hit on Gerbe didn't get anything. That was a nasty hit.

I will check for the video (Gerbe hit) when I get a chance.
Gerbe used his body to try and protect himself. With the stricter penalties come people trying to take advantage of the rules. Bourdon was coming in shoulder to shoulder. Gerbe got the puck and spun around, hence getting hit in the numbers.
That shouldn't even be penalized in my book. I get mad at our own players when they do it

Bourdon had plenty of time to stop or slow.
And obviously we're on different sides of this one, but I wouldn't say Gerbe really got the puck, because all he was doing was a red line touch down the ice, not trying to get ahold of the puck and make a play with it.
Gerbe does glance over his shoulder and sees Bourdon coming, but he turns way early enough for Bourdon to not hit him like that.
That doesn't mean he can't be hit.

Sure it does.
If a guy turns his back to you with plenty of time for you to stop before hitting him, that means that he can't be hit.
At least, not hit hard. You can wrap him up and take him into the boards, but you can't just bury your shoulder into his back unless he turns right in front of you and gives you no time to adjust your course.
