stand your ground is florida law.. but it wasnt used in this case. zimmerman claimed self defense.

also, the decision was right. the prosecution had no case. Zimmerman had a broke nose and split open skull. he does have the right to self defense. if the prosecution could have proven zimmerman did something illegal, then they would have him. maybe started the fight. they had nothing. case never should have gone to trial. following a kid and getting out of your car is not illegal. it just isnt. it makes him a douche.. but not guilty of anything illegal.

Drop the race bullshit too. Google Chris Cervini and Roderick Scott. Same shit happened before but an unarmed 17 year old white kid was gunned down by a black man. the black guy walked.. and should have.

If some one came up into my face like Zimmerman did waiving a gun and threatening to kill me, I would have tried to brake his nose too. Very simple - All White neighborhood saw one black man - thought it looked strange which is was. Zimmerman called the police and was told to wait. Zimmerman instead took the law into his hands and killed him

Who wants to bet that the jury member who said Zimmerman got away with murder has a few death threats herself...

Will she ever be on another jury?

One has to wonder if Lebron is due for a serious injury? Impressively 10 years into the league, he has avoided any real injury. In fact, other than the Asterisk season in 2012, Lebron has played over 75 games every season. Not all, but historically many of the great players have all had significant injuries by this stage of their career: Bird, MJ, Sampson, Bill Walton, Kobe, Bynum, Wade, Blake griffin, Howard, and many more.

...In fact Kobe by age 29 had multiple knee surgeries, torn hand ligaments, and now ofcourse the achilles. Which is what's so impressive that Kobe despite all those injuries was still first team all nba at age 35....But Lebron has avoided the injury bug...Not that I would wish injury on him or anyone. I don't. But statisitcall speaking Lebron is overdue for some sort of basketball injury: A ripped ACL. Broken foot or ankle. Seperated shoulder. Chronic Back injury...

...One has to wonder why Lebron has avoided injury when many other steroid users have had their bodies start to break down: Bonds, Wade etc...Yet Lebron avoids injuries despite his steroid usage. Has he just been lucky?

...Again, not that I wish it on Lebron, but statistically speaking he's due for some sort of significant injury.

Comments?

People on HGH avoid injuries pretty well.

Well one thing for sure - The man that lost his life was the unarmed person. Trayvon had no weapon and was approached by Zimmerman when Zimmerman was told by the police NOT TO APPROACH HIM. I have audited security guards companies of all kinds and very few of them for this very reason no longer provide armed security guards. They employed unarmed security guards who are taught and trained to
OBSERVE AND REPORT AND DO NOT ENGAGE THE SUSPECTS.

That's what he should have done, and while he is no in jail, Zimmerman is hardly a free man. I would hate to be in his shoes. As far as the jurors are concerned, they should keep their mouths shut and move forward. They had their chance to do what's right and now the entire justice system needs to learn from it and move forward. I think what I believe is right just like everyone else. It is what it is

There is no proof Zimmerman came out of the car waiving a gun threatening to kill him. that is just made up.. youre speculating.. there is zero proof of that. if that were the case, then there probably would have been a conviction. the state of florida was unable to prove any part of zimmerman's story false. none of it.

maybe you are right.. maybe it did go down that way. but the evidence isnt there. just speculation. reasonable doubt existed in this case. zimmerman had to walk.

Where most NBA players are concerned it would be pathetic.

In LeBron's case it's less pathetic than usual, because LeBron off-court
is a sorry excuse for a human being.

Personally I don't really want to see him injured, but returning to Cleveland
for a big slice of humble pie.And donating huge hunks of his net worth to Ohio charities in the process.

Heck look at D-Rose and how he gets injured and not LeBron... This guy is one heck of a lucky guy injury wise! Numbers would suggest he is due for a serious injury but I just don't see it happening, he is a freak of nature and works his rear off.

That is not how numbers or probabilities work. If I flip a coin and it lands on heads 7 times in a row is the probability that it will be tails on the next flip the same or different from the previous 7 times? What if it landed on heads 100 times in a row, or a million?

If Kareem didn't break his hand 2x by punching the stanchion that supports the basket and then a few years later punching another player in the face, the least amount of games he would have played in a season would have been 74.....his last season.

Thank god he took roids.....

This seems random...but I would love more info on this.

How do you know LBJ off the court? And he does donate large sums of money towards charity and does commercials (and even a cartoon) aimed at promoting education. Man what an ASS HOLE!!! Forcing those beliefs and ideals on the people who clearly do not think education is important.

I am a Pacers fan and born again Heat Hater. Still, no reasonable person can question that LeBron is the best player on the planet. Yeah, Durant is an incredible scoring machine, but LeBron is awesome in every phase of the game. Offense, defense, passing skills and basketball IQ. No one compares.

The thing I noticed, and this was a bit scary, when he was being interviewed after a game in the playoffs, I noticed that he has broader shoulders and a bigger chest than Shaq. Now that is a real freak of nature.

There has never been a physical specimen like Lebron. What ever he does to maintain it, I would not count on any injury this next season.

Now Wade may be fading......which is something I admit I am hoping for.

Since you asked, however I protest the Stand your ground law period - It's a bad piece of legislation that allows racist whites in the deep south to kill innocent victims. In the deep south whites and blacks have no dealings with each other. The protest, however is because the the jurors should have found the man guilty of involuntary manslaugher and the district attorney should have went after involuntary manslaughter - not murder. They had and 5 white jurors and a latino or something - should have had atleast a few African Americans on the juror - It was simply a badly handled situation by an incompetent district attorney and an incompetent judge all the way through
I may be wrong but I think the process is that both the prosecution and defense lawyers go through the list of potential jurors and each get to cross names off. Ending up with both sides agreeing as to who the actual jury consists of.

So there could have been potentially African American jurors but they were not chosen.

Yeah it is completely random juror pool.

Also, blacks make up 13% of this country so their representation in the average jury should be in that range.

I am sure all the race baiters would love nothing more than to stick 4-5 blacks on that jury...

The defense would never allow that to happen, of course. But you right about that.

It's sure beats reading all of these Lebronlovers casting forth their romantical songs. LOL

I do not know about this site, but at ESPN the board was infested with bandwagon Heat fans that knew about as much about basketball as my three year old niece.

No wait. She was born in Indiana. Guess I would have to give her the edge.

Florida has a black population of 29% and Sanford Florida is 30%. 30% of 12 is 3.6...or if that were people 4. So yes demographic aware people would want 4 people on that jury. Before you say that the US is where the trial was that law is a florida law not US wide.

People in Sanford, Florida

They pick from a limited supply of jurors. It would not be hard to tamper with who is available.

Let's don't gripe about the jurors. Remember that the prosecution agreed with the jury selection. All they had to do was deny them and none of those jurors would have been there.
