You don't recall a time when there was such a lack of competitive balance? Did you miss the 1980s? How bout the 90s?

I was referring to a post salary cap era and comparing the NBA to other sports. Lets face it, going into the last 3 years just about every body had Cavs, Golden State even before the season began. Those two teams lost how many games in the playoffs last year before the finals? Wasn't it 1. And the finals were basically a yawner.

I love LeBron. I am a fan of his and love game. Just because I am a huge LeBron fan, doesn't change the fact that the guy is selfish lol. And just because I think he's selfish, doesn't change the fact that I'm a huge fan of him and think he's either the greatest or 2nd greatest player of all time.

I also don't see the big deal in calling the guy selfish. Lots of players are selfish, but most of them wouldn't say publicly that he'd vote for himself to be the MVP lol.
Again...Lmfao

I don't want to come off as a LeBron apologists.

But, It happens every fricking year.

Either stated emphatically or insinuated.

Shaquille O'Neal believes he deserved MVP awards, not Steve Nash - Arizona Sports

Kobe Bryant on why he has only one MVP: ‘Because the media votes on it’

Russell Westbrook on Stephen Curry's MVP prediction: 'Who's he?'

On the biggest possession of the game, Muggsy had the ball with the Hornets down one. Jordan backed off of him and told him, 'Shoot it, you f***ing midget.' Muggsy shot it, didn’t come close. A year later Muggsy actually told Johnny Bach that he believes that single play ruined his career. His shot never recovered.

Top 10 Instances of Michael Jordan Being Just Plain Mean

I loves me some Muggsy, original Hornet, all that jazz, but my god, if you let a single incidence of trash talk affect your shot -- and your entire career to boot -- then you got no business playing pro ball in the first place.

For as long as there have been player awards, there has been saltiness. Players will defend their own abilities to the death. Shit Monta Ellis one year said he was the 2nd best player in the league, sandwiched between Lebron and Kobe. LOL.

I feel ya, but MJ never talked about himself in 3rd person, at least.

Sure he has ... here's one ... among others.

Listen, Larry is the GOAT of trash talk.

I mean, stories of his exploits have me literally giggling gleefully.

I'm a woman in my 40's and actually GIGGLED reading about that Allstar game contest and him torturing Anthony Mason and Dominique Wilkins on the court.

Basketball is always going to be about having 2 or 3 elite players on your team. Which means the league will always be top heavy. Teams like the 2004 Pistons will always be the anomaly.

Yep, agree 100%.

Dude, do you remember Nick Anderson?

I think that was the absolute worst.

Did you drug the dog? He's not gonna wake up and bite me, or anything?

It was douchey...

But, I get Lebron's point.

Yeah, I don't mind him sayin' it. One some level, you have to believe you're the best player on any court or you wind up like Muggsy Bogues

Not sure I can put LeBron above Magic or KAJ. But I would have him in my all time top 5.

I can put him above Magic. KAJ is a good one though.

The difference is all those are after the MVP award was awarded, not before the season even ended.
