I would argue that a prime Marc would've done the same. He just never had a player of Kobe's caliber to pair with.
Possibly. We'll never know.

If lebron wanted to stay in cleveland, why would he opt out? Isn't he going to be making LESS next year now if he stayed?
You clearly have absolutely no understanding of how NBA salaries or the cap work.
There's a classic video of Roger Craig high stepping and running over Rams and straight-arming defenders into the ground that I'm kinda partial to.Exactly the way I like to see the Niners, on their backs and flailing lol...
Or sign this guy...If the Lakers strike out on All three of Paul George(already gone), K leonard(not looking good right now), and LeBron James, I think the Lakers should buy out Luol Deng so that it comes off the books completely in 2019. Then they will have more latitude next summer and the players will be imprpved
Shaqdaddy has no understanding about life in general...
I know right?Lebron's a free agent?
When did that happen and how come no one's created a thread about it?

He's almost a senior citizen.Or sign this guy...
New here?He is not officially gone from Cleveland. There are still several options where he could return to the Cavs. Beyond that - this is isn't news. Will be soooo happy when he signs somewhere so that shortly thereafter ESPN & other outlets stop talking about him every 2 minutes. They should rename ESPN to the LeBron network.
For the record I personally blame you for PG not coming to LA.I dont think it will be long now before we know where he is headed............Lebron has been on the phone for weeks now seeing who he can get to come to LA with him..........While its true he could still resign with Cleveland I dont see it happening.............I believe soon LBJ and PG sign with LA................And while I find Steven A Smith annoying at times I think his opinions regarding LBJ hold water as they are tight and Smith has him going to LA as well
I remember the day the Lakers signed Dwight Howard. Glorious. And they haven't been the same w/o him. Just think if the organization would have been nicer to him they could be the Warriors right now.
True or false, smartass?
False.
In fact, I am pretty sure the 1 and 1 max is exactly the same as what his player option would have been.
And the Cavs can go over the cap to resign their own players they have Bird rights for just not any FAs unless they are using the MLE or a vet min.
