I wonder if anyone is chainging their mind to Brandon Belt after last nights game? 0-8 with 5 K's.

Muy no bueno......

I think he still has until next year's deadline. Unless he finds a way to sneak off of the plate or close that hole near his hands without losing much power, I don't think he will be in a Giants uniform beyond that. Certainly, if the right haul came along, I would support moving him sooner, but as of right now, I don't see that happening.

The potential reemergence of AnVil and Dominguez, and the addition of Ragira to the org hurt Belts long-term prospects.

Susac may be the one who ultimately does it, though.

For me Belt's performace is just something I don't understand and have trouble accepting. I thought this was his year. He had an exceptional Spring. He hit for power and average. I thought this was the year he made believers out of everyone. I still think we will stick with him for the remainder of the year and at least one more year. Still think (or want to believe) that he is a .300 25hr 90 RBI guy

At only 25 now, he still has some time and room to grow. That said, I too thought he would take a step forward this year, only to see him to be pretty much the same guy they trotted out last year. He looked so good this spring, I thought he had put it all together. I guess he still needs a bit more time.

Tell the truth: this post is a description of James Loney from 2009, isn't it? ;)

EDIT: For the record, I would take 2009 Loney numbers and D from Belt any day of the week... and still hope for more production. :)

Well played!! In fact, that does kind of work and fit, as that was about the time that I soured on him. Sadly though, pretty much the same thing could be said and be true about Chad Billingsley, at least IMO.

Great job Heath, and I had just forgotten about James Loney too. Hard to remember someone you replaced with A-Gon.

Yeah. I'm sure there is no love lost. Ask Boston how impressed they were with Loney... considering he is in Tampa, now. :)

Who knew that it would take just a change of scenery, and/but the RIGHT change of scenery, for him to start hitting like many thoght he could and should have been all along......?

Well, he is a free agent next year... ;)

EDIT: Seriously, though, he always had a great eye (much like Belt), and yeah, I'm glad to finally see him reach most of his potential (so long as it wasn't in Dodger Blue). Also, hopefully, some other GM thinks Belt just needs a change of scenery, and is willing to give up top prospects (or A-Gon ;)) for the right to find out.
