I'd like to thank the Leafs and Brian Burke/Dave Nonis for saving Feaster from a big mistake.

So let me get this right. Nonis said the Leafs weren't willing to overpay guys like Talbot and Leino, yet they give close to 5 million a year to an HMO's dream come true?

This is like watching a Roadrunner cartoon, seriously.

I've always liked Connolly. Overpayment here, but I hope he stays healthy and it works out well...

...despite the avatar.

Tweet from Dreger:

Connolly is healthy. He's had some fluke injuries, but has no concussion issues. Will be a good fit with Kessel.

Such a Burke apologist and Leafs homer. Dreger continues to be a clown.

Edit: If the Flames sign Connolly, Dreger would have tweeted that it is a massive overpayment. I know you value your precious "insider" status, Darren, but let's call a spade a spade.

So, Connolly hasn't had fluke injuries and isn't healthy then?

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed free agent centre Tim Connolly to a 2-year, $9.5 million contract.

Connolly had 13 goals and 29 assists in 68 games with Buffalo last season.

After missing just one game in his first two NHL seasons with the Islanders, Connolly has played all 82 games just once in the next eight years with Buffalo – in the 2001-02 season.

He has 118 goals and 277 assists in 627 career games

The only saving grace is that it is only a 2 year deal...Still too much money (by at least 1.5 million)

Yes, too much considering his history. But we are 22 million under that cap and just lost out on the top FA this summer. An overpay was expected.

This makes the Cole, Fleischmann, and Ward signings low now.

He is not the player he once was since being concussed. The fans here were PISSED when they signed him to that last extension.

Look I would have loved him to play like the "old Tim" but he never did. He is timid in the corners and a giveaway machine on the PP.

Good luck in Toronto Tim but I don't see it happening.

Hey pix! Were you looking for me to use the "P" word?

I don't think so considering the term of Connolly's deal & the fact that there are so few centers available on the UFA market.

I'll disagree.
I see a player with a history of injuries who scored 13 goals last year getting more per year than a player who has been relatively durable who scored twice the amount of goals.

Comeds, The scary part is he supposedly was healthy last year! He has lost his game mentally.

I was thinking of an "O-P" word. :)
