It does really. He could be something special like the 9ers saw in him. I know he has the injury but I just don't see the heart in the kid. Maybe he plays elsewhere someday playing football.

Yeah. I wonder how messed up his knee is. Must be pretty bad. A lot of people come back from injuries though so I wonder what's different. I know his particular injury was pretty gruesome though. Was he "cleared" to play by a doctor? I honestly haven't followed his story much b/c I figured even if he did play it wouldn't be that great seeing as how long he was out for.

Another bad draft pick though.

I totally believe him that his knee is not up the level that the NFL demands. He probably doesn't have the speed, cannot cut or juke the way he used to. He would probably be a sub-par running back.

But I totally think that he did not set a foot on the sideline or field so he could collect his whole $1.7 insurance policy.

Why come back as a RB on a lower salary and then the 49ers would have to cut you after one year, instead just never set a foot on the field and collect $1.7M.

Dollars and sense people.

This is the rumor as to why he walked away.

Sucks. I was really rooting for the kids to come back from that injury and be the next Frank Gore.

Thank god we got Hyde and now hunter will be back. We are fine at this position.

fine counting Gore, cause can't help think he'll be a cap casualty?

yep, Hyde is looking good as a rookie, no question it is huge.

But there's always a silver lining. Lattimore's retirement opened up a spot for Kendall Hunter to re-sign with the team. I like him; he's been a productive back in his time with the team.

One year deal but Hunter is not able to play either. If Gore plays out the season in the same way he alwayd does the 9ers might offer him a one year contract.

not me.

the closest this would apply to is QB, but even then we wouldn't do it EVERY year. when you have a good QB in place, you might consider drafting a QB mid to late every year. cause sooner or later, you'll need a new, good QB.
