I hope everyone gets plenty of rest between now and then and comes out ready to beat the defending Western Conference champs.

The Lakers will probably make a spirited effort against the Spurs, but they have a tall order ahead of them. Gasol has to have a stellar game and the beastie boys off the bench have to duplicate their Opening Night effort to beat the Spurs.

It may be a very long night.

It could be but I also think the boys will want to rebound from tonights pathetic effort. I just hope they are competitive win or lose.

Agreed. Blowouts are going to happen during the season with this squad. The key is learning from it. I think this team's definitely going to get better. No need to throw in the towel yet...

They need to get back to what they were doing against the Clippers and that was playing team ball. The movement and passing weren't there last night. And it would help to not let someone go off like MT's son did.

Side note: Duncan may be out with a chest contusion.

Gasol needs to finally get into the season. Against the Clippers, he was not all that spectacular, sort of pedestrian. Last night, he made a few shots but had a number of sleep-walking turnovers. He does pass well but he is beginning to adopt a lolly-gag approach and it is disconcerting.

This is why a lot of folks say he's soft. He doesn't get in there and bang, which his brother Marc doesn't seem to have a problem with...

If they want to trade somebody, trade Pau for Mark even up and send Nash along just for grins.

You'd get Mark Gasol in return and he is a better banger down low and not afraid to mix it up with either going to the hole for points or rebounds. Since everyone appears to be returning to the Lakers, Mark started his career with the Lakers and was traded for Pau. Just reverse it and send Nash along. Farmar would be fine.

Wouldn't that be funny. The Lakers trade another large expiring contract to Memphis for a prime Spanish center. Not gonna happen, but would be funny.

Exactly. My concern at this point isnt that we got blown out last night but what do we do if Nash sits out a lot of games. We will need to trade for anothe rpoint guard as we cant rely on Blake and Farmar can only play so much.

I am not sure Lakersrule. According to the Bleacher report, since the Lakers bought out Kobe's contract (giving him a lump sum of $24 mil), the Lakers may beginning jettisoning the tired, old, and large contracts. Gasol and Nash hold the next two. With the success of the new, younger, more athletic Lakers, I see the Lakers trading Pau because a week ago, this was nonsense talk. Now, it may be a reality. Then they'll tweak the present roster because Jordon Hill is playing so well at the 5 and they'll bring in a PG.
