Bonner has the most mechanical looking 3 pt shot with a vertical leap that can be measured with a micrometer...where was that at Florida?

This is where the Lakers are going to struggle......if they don't get some 3s to drop, if I'm SA, I just start hacking Howard with the lead.

yep, seems to be the beginning of the end for this one...

ah well, on to game 2...

I just calls 'em the way I sees 'em

I can't see the Bucks beating Miami tho......it might be the quickest, most boring sweep in NBA history

They were only about 50% health in the backcourt and still torched the Lakers backcourt badly.

If Manu and Parker continue to get healthier, this might be a short series.

I expect the Lakers to fight back and win a few games, but the Spurs PLAYED HORRIBLY and still won easily.

it is only 1 game, and the series will have turns in both directions, but today was far easier than I expected.

The Lakers need big time production out of their big 3.

They need at least 20 and 10 from Howard and Gasol while 14 and 8 out of Nash would be fine.

They're strugggling on offense big time since KB went down

Yeah Horns, first congrats brother! All your comments were spot on. One thing though, we too were missing some important offense health wise in the backcourt, LOL.

Still holding hope for the split before the return to LA...

Game came down to one thing......Spurs got clutch play from Manu down the stretch, and the Lakers got.......

Without Kobe, I don't know how that changes. If Parker and Manu are playing at their peak, this series ends in a sweep.

Spurs played well on defense!! Lakers missed too many open shots and turned the ball over too much!! You can't do that against the Spurs and expect to win!!

Need Nash to play better (doubt he goes 5-16 again) and need to get Dwight and Pau more touches close to the hoop.

And quit turning the ball over.

That's how it changes!!

PARKER played worse than NASH and the Spurs still won by 13.

Both PARKER and GINOBILI are horribly injured.

If they can get healthier, this series becomes real short.

The Lakers best shot is to try and dominate the post and hope Parker stays hurt in a short series for LA.

Uh, no they didn't. They didn't shoot much better, but they also didn't turn the ball over.

As for getting healthier, it's not like they are just going to wake up and be 100% tomorrow. I agree that their health is likely to improve as the playoffs go forward so if a team is going to beat them, it will have to be early (I think a healthy Spurs team beats OKC).

I agree re: dominate the post. But this is where all of the other players (Nash in particular) can help. The Spurs were able to double Dwight and Pau in the post because they didn't have to worry about getting beat from the outside. If the Lakers perimeter players do a better job shooting the ball, the Spurs can't double the post anymore.

Actually the Lakers shot better from the field than the Spurs, had about the same number of rebounds (Lakers actually had 1 more than the Spurs) but the Spurs had more shot attempts.

So your right starbigd, the game did come down to one thing but it wasn't clutch play by any one dude, it was turnovers. The Lakers committed 2 times as many as the Spurs and the Spurs enjoyed a 9-18 advantage in that department.

So really if the Lakers can clean that up, that can account for anywhere from 0-27 points but I'll say it's probably closer to 10-14. Now how many points did they lose by? 11, right? Okay so that's in the ballpark, they can do this, they just need to take care of the ball....
