Big game in terms of seeding as neither teams wants to face OKC in the playoffs.

Rockets can be 6,7, or 8 while Lakers can be 7th or 8th

What are the chances Steve Blake scores 23 again?

Thankfully JVG is calling this game. Can't stand most of ESPN's commentators. Kind of hoping the Lakers pull it out tonight. I wanna see Harden vs. OKC.

Meh. Not much difference in losing in 4 or 7 if you are going to lose either way.

I actually disagree with this. For a young team like Houston who most ppl did not expect to even make the playoffs, I do think the length of the series is a difference for them.

However for a team like the Lakers who many had as one of the 3 best teams in the league in the preseason, the length will not matter

Actually, the length of the series could matter for the Lakers. Dwight is being counted on to lead this team when Kobe retires. With Kobe out, this is his opportunity to show what he's got as a leader.

Bowing out in 4 or 5 games that aren't very close wouldn't look good. But if he lead them to a 6 or 7 game series (or even win a series) with close games would show that he can be counted on to lead the team in the future.

Fair enough. Judging by popular opinion, I'm obviously wrong, but I actually like the matchup with the Thunder more. Rocket's interior defense is garbage and I see the Thunder as more of a jumpshooting team. Rather McHale's dumbass go against Brooks than Pop. Thunder obviously have more star power, but I believe the Spurs have more depth. Then there is Russell Westbrook who has the ability to shoot the Thunder out of some games.

The biggest reason I want to see it though is I just think it could be one of the most exciting first round matchups.

I agree with pretty much everything you said here but I think the major reason teams rather face SAS instead of OKC is because the Spurs are bange up right now.

I do think OKC/HOU and DEN/GSW will be the 2 most exciting first round matchups even though both may end up being a short 5 game series

For sure. I'm just not sure that will have much of an effect one way or another. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Ginobili the only one who is supposed to be real limited at this point?

FIFY

They can't keep Houston guards out of the lane. probably half of Houstons points are layups or in the paint.

THIS is the reason LA can't win a series this year. They can't slow down opposing offenses, they have to hope teams have a bad shooting game.
