PREVIEW:Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets - Preview - December 30, 2014 - ESPN Los Angeles
What bad defensive team has ever won a championship? That's my thing. I want to come out here and just be a defensive presence for the team and just bring some toughness and hopefully that can help us win.
I'll find minutes for Black and Ryan as well. It's great we bring in Black. I don't want our bigs to be comfortable just thinking you'll be playing just because you're here. This young man will come in and he's obviously very hungry.
Jordan Hill's production is down by 3 points and 3 rebounds in December. "The intensity isn't there" Lakers coach Byron Scott said via The Los Angeles Daily News " I don't know if he's tired".
My thoughts exactly on Hill's play lately, really can't tell if he's tired or what the issue is.
I think the most reasonable assumption would be that its Ed Davis increased roll on the team. Jordan does not have to take a back seat be that as it is. I still expect him to HUSTLE BACK And play on the Defensive end.

It'd help if he'd stop taking so many 18 footers and other shots beyond the FT line. He can't hit them worth shit. It's fine if he wants to develop that part of his game and it will help him as a player, but that's the kind of thing that needs to be crafted in the offseason where you can jack up 1000s of shots with a shooting coach.
J-Hill was hitting that shot last year and earlier this season, I don't think he's a bad shooter but he should definitely focus on the paint for the most part. That's when he's clearly at his best.
I don't ever recall him shooting midrange shots at that clip as he is this year. You may have seen him hit that shot in a game, but that's not indicative of him being a good shooter. I checked his shooting splits from the last few seasons for that range beyond the FT line (16 footer). 2 years ago he shot 46 shots there the whole year and hit 34%. Last year was 59 at 39%. This year? He's already doubled the shots at 116 but is only hitting 32%.
