With or without Kobe, the Lakers are done. If the Lakers were smart, they would hold Kobe out for the season or until the last month of the season & start trading aging assets for future assets. And they might as well buyout Nash's contract & start fresh for 2014/15. Keeping this roster intact is not going to get them anywhere.

I didn't think so during the summer, but Mitch has put together a #tankforwiggins caliber roster. I'm not even sure Kobe will help out that much.

im not a big conspiracy guy.. BUT.. Kobe should sit the year out and rehab. lakers tank on purpose. if you get the lotto ball. wiggins/kobe/free agent... it may be the quickest way to #6 for kobe.

You're likely spot on. I would be surprised if Kobe sat out the season though, just doesn't seem to be in his DNA.

Maybe the Lakers can bribe the doctors to lie to him and keep telling him he's not ready!!

I agree I don't think kobe would be capable of sitting if he is cleared to play. Maybe he should start hanging with DRose

if kobe comes back healthy anythings possible. Kobe literally single handedly carried the team to the playoffs last year. He can do it again. Plus if kobe didn't get injured last year they beat S.A

Am I confused, or do the Celtics have a better record than the Lakers?:laugh3::laugh3:

On a 4 game winning streak, which I highly doubt the Lakers are able to pull off once this season.

First time in this spot as a fan of the Lakers and it is the strangest thing. When I watch em, I can't help but to pull for them...but I know that getting in the lottery makes so much more sense. I'm looking at next year's class, and I'd ideally love to have Wiggins, but there are a FEW promising players it seems, so Wiggins isn't exactly the be all to end all. As for Kobe, you can forget about him staying out the year. I fully believe that if you told him that he had 1 year left, he'd use it on this year.
