Well thet are really happy down here. It is always a bad day when these boys improves themselves. Any rb can run behind that line. Why didn't we spend at least a 7 rd pick on the guy.

That's an awful good question...

La'el is a first round pick. We should have wanted him and not wanted the boys to get him. You can't blame us for being a little upset.

Everyone appears to be making the major assumption that this guy won't get in trouble & not be able to play next season. Teams didn't avoid him just for the heck of it. I am not necessarily stating that the move was a bad one by the Cowboys (especially since they appear to want to sign as many criminals as possible). However - stating things like they are set with this guy & at this position are very premature.

you cant lose what you didnt have

Amen to that my friend. Let's focus on the Redskins & not the Cowboys. I also believe that this continued lack of desire by the Boys to sign players with character will bite them in the ass in the near future.

What other criminals, potential criminals & junkies are still available for the Boys to sign?

Yeah this pisses me off. And was there any doubt the Boys would sign him? Sure Jerry is taking risks. But what risk is there here? He got a first round talent for free and if the guy is dirty he walks away with no harm done. Why the Helll didn't our team do this?

JJ also stole Randy Gregoy in round 2. Sure he's a bit of a risk too. But teams sometimes go too overboard in their paranoia. Which is why Hall of Fame talent such as Warren Sapp and Randy Moss got snapped up in the mid first round.

I'm good with trying to build a roster with known, quality, smart, football IQ players myself.

I agree what your saying...but if the guy is dirty and walks away...no harm done.....isnt exactly true.....If he does get in trouble his full salary is Fully Guarnteed, so they would still be on the hook for that......PLUS.....the PR hit will be TERRIBLE!!!.... Sure the cops say he isnt a suspect....NOW....but in the future after they talk to more people.....Maybe just maybe he will be... For his sake I certainly hope that doesnt happen..but..you never know

That's what I get for not opening the link. I didn't realize it was fully guaranteed, just didn't expect that.

Still it's $1.7 mil. JJ makes that in parking for one home game. Not that big of a risk and a possible big return. As for the PR hit not so sure. I think most see it as I did. They didn't hire a known criminal, they took a risk that he was not guilty and once if he is found to be a suspect and/or guilty they got out of the La'el Collins business.

Yep I agree some teams sometimes go too overboard in their paranoia. The guy is first rd material. I would have at least spent a 7 rd pick on him.

Cmon guys move on & like Skinsdad alluded to - focus on the players that are actually on the Redskins. Are you going to lament every player, risk, etc that the Skins avoid? The Redskins GM has a proven track record and most teams (not just the Redskins) have their reasons for making & not making certain moves. Do yourself a favor - gripe about it for the next day or so then forget about it! There are lots of other things to be excited about with the Washington Redskins at this time.

well my thought is what makes you think collins would be attracted to DC in the 1st place ?

we have finished last 5 of 6 years .

we have been in turmoil since the clinton administration

in the past 2 years we have drafted 5 young o/lineman , 4 who play your position and your main competition is scherf while in dallas its doug "i should play for "free

dallas has a winning team that you have a chance to start with and has super bowl aspirations we have 6-10 aspirations and hopefully can pull ourselves out of the cellar

they have tony romo at qb we have joe webb part 2

the hard truth some of you dont want to hear is we are amongst the worst operated franchises in the NFL and perhaps in history until proven otherwise while the cowboys still carry the allure of being "america's team " and they are very much near where collins grew up

Dallas... the house of ill repute. If they sign anymore potential convicts Sharpton might just buy season tickets. Can you imagine the talk inside that locker room? "Who'd you shoot last night? "Slow night man, just beat the f--k out of my girlfriend instead... you score on that killer weed? Nah, ended up lifting some panties from the mall after I drove drunk to get there."

Listen, they can have those questionable guys. Sooner or later it's all gonna come crashing down on em.
