Well, this is always how my year ends.

All dressed up for the ball. But, nowhere to go.

What trade exception? Where has this one-for-one trade been reported? No one is dumb enough to not pull that trigger if you can get Melo for Austin Rivers.

http://nypost.com/2017/02/07/austin-rivers-vs-derrick-rose-will-have-knicks-full-attention/

That article mentions that Rivers would've been part of a package for Melo.
Yeah, he made that shit up...lol

They have this thing called the salary cap where salary has to match.

It would have needed to be several guys with Melo's salary and trade kicker.

But, they did want Austin as part of the package.

It didn't go anywhere because Melo didn't want to move mid season.

Now that his home life is up in flames, he will likely waive it.

Not sure why he'd pick the Clippers over the Celtics.

He should be used to the cold weather.

The Clips actually look better at times without Griffin. Clips should've traded away Blake when he had significant value. Now they're not going to get equal return for his value.
Very similar to the situation with Pau & the Lakers. They held onto him & missed the opportunity to trade him for decent value.

Yeah, DJ mentioned trade exception. But you can't just pull one of those out of your ass, you have to acquire it somehow. I knew he was full of shit on that one.

On one hand, it's pathetic to keep losing to a 267 year old Joe Johnson.

On another, getting beat by fiddy, four games straight, by the Warriors is about as attractive as eating jello out of Star Jones belly button.

You know it's bad when losing doesn't even hurt anymore.

At least it isn't like they are missing the playoffs every year. I do think, however that with Chris Paul and Griffin getting older, there time in the playoffs may come to an end for a rebuilding process. They just can't seem to get that third super-star they need to make a deeper run. A day late and a dollar short.

They are cursed.

Cp3 should save himself and go to the Spurs.

I don't see Paul going away. Blake on the other hand may be on his way out. His stock went way down with the toe injury but he is unreliable and I don't see the Clips giving him another year to prove himself.

Well I've been saying they were cursed for years but to be fair, Balmer has only owned the team less than two years.

Look at the bright side. You get to watch your team play in the playoffs. It's been over a decade since the Kings have made it.

Yeah, I hope he moves on.

But, it would be best if we could sign and trade Blake.

Otherwise, we will be in cap hell and would not have the ability to pay a replacement.

itll be a dissapointment if the Clippers never end up having their full and healthy lineup together for a legit playoff run.

It just seems like fate is against them.

Blake and CP just got ever seem to get and stay healthy and the same time. I think its a given CP3 stays- and i was very very high on Blake staying a little while back- but im not so sure now.

itll be very interesting to see.

They don't need a super star. They have 3 max players on the roster, two of which (Blake and DJ) that really don't fit together. Doc has neglected the wing position his entire time while with the Clips. They don't need a super star at the position, they need a quality veteran (someone around Trevor Ariza's skill set). Their bench, once again outside of Crawford is a joke, even though many thought that it was significantly upgraded.

I called this from day 1. Although I just thought they wouldn't get past the 2nd round again, I didn't think they'd get knocked out of the 1st.

They need to trade one of their core pieces of their big 3 - which I'd look at Blake.

Blake would certainly be the most logical of the 3 to trade, but imo, he would also bring the least return because of his injury history and I think the league is onto him in the sense that he's not really a leader and hasn't ever really lived up to his potential.

Imo, the Clippers biggest problem, at least from a playoffs perspective, is that their point guard is the toughest guy on their team. That just doesn't bode well for deep playoff runs. At least not that I've ever seen.

....agree.

I love Paul's talent. But, the rest of that roster is a bunch of bitches.

Your Pg can't be your goon.

That's a sensible argument to be made. I was more leaning with my argument on the side that Blake should've been traded earlier where he would've garnered more interest and more value in return. It goes back to the saying where Wiggy made a point (Jesus Christ I just said that), usually you don't trade a dollar for 4 quarters. But in this case, it would've allowed the Clips a deeper roster that would've been more competitive. CP3's skill set would benefit with more weapons around him as opposed to another "all-star player". For example, I think CP3 to the Spurs next year would be absolutely deadly, yet they're not loaded to the brim with star players - just Kawhi (who's top 5 material) and LA who's all-star caliber, but just a shade under.

But you're right, Blake's injury history as well as his reputation for not being tough and/or leader will be the Clips undoing.

Matt Barnes would've been good to have right now.
