LA Chargers Vers Denver Broncos

You know, I was looking at who we have on the roster as far as O-Line. Suppose we were to cut/trade Max Garcia. It could look something like this:

STARTERS: Bolles/Barbre/Paradis/Leary/Watson

BACK UPS: OT Stephenson, OG Turner, C/OG McGovern

PRACTICE SQUAD: OT Wilkinson, C Day

That gives you a #1 and #2 line for practices, and three guys to pick between to see who you want to be active on game day other than the starters on the line. Not to beat a dead Bronco but we can do without Garcia completely. I wouldn't be upset if they moved Garcia off the team to make room for D-Line depth.

Your right about Garcia but you have to very concerned, no actually petrified, if we lose one of those starters. Turner,Day,Stephenson, are garbage. Verdict still out on McGovern because he can play center at least if Paradis is hurt. Very sad depth and we still don't know about starters.

I'm somewhat relieved though because last year it looked we had 1/5 of an O-line. Paradis was the only one that I thought was definitely worth keeping. Although I thought Schofield looked OK at Guard sometimes. So we went from 1/5 of an O-line to 4/5 of an O-Line. And I think either Barbre or McGovern would be better than Garcia. I think one of those two guys could give us an entire starting line. That's not great but it's better than last year. But, yeah, you're right. We lose starters and it's a quick trip into a muddy ditch.

I'm real surprised at Max Garcia's lack of development - very disappointing. He is a likeable guy from what I've seen.

Class A person, great strength and willingness to learn. I guess some guys just don't have it. I was very high on him. Still have some hope, but really frustrated by his play right now. Especially after he turned it up the last month of the season last year and then to come out and not see that type of play by him so far is frustrating.

I am pretty 50/50 but give the edge to Denver... Need to create some turnovers, something we have been good about doing with Rivers.

Matthew Stanley: I said a few days ago I think 24-13 Chargers but I don't think the game will be that high scoring. Both defenses will do a good job, but I think Trevor Siemian commits a couple turnovers and the Chargers are able to do enough offensively to get the W. Chargers 20 - 13 Broncos

Richard Wade: The Chargers are underdogs for a reason, but Trevor Siemian is awful and the Chargers’ defense with Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram, Jason Verrett, and Casey Hayward all healthy should be too much for him to handle. I like the Chargers in a close game. Chargers 20 - 17 Broncos

Cody Young: I'm optimistic to start the season, as always. The Broncos will be getting the Chargers at full strength, and I believe the Chargers have what it takes to pull out a W. Michael Peterson: Chargers in a one-score victory with the Bolts O and Denver defense trading big plays. Gordon is fed heavily and Rivers takes advantage of having Keenan Allen against Denver for the first time since 2014. Siemian can't orchestrate much while being harassed on the edges. Nathan Graber-Lipperman: The Broncos slide to the bottom of the division is in full effect, but I have a feeling the defense comes to play Monday night. still, the Chargers at full strength in the first game of the season should be frustratingly amazing, which makes it hurt more when everything goes to crap in three weeks. still, I got the boys in bolts making noise in a close one. Ruben J. Gonzalez: I've got the Chargers winning. I believe Trevor Siemian will have some problems with the pass rush and its gonna lead to some ints. This will be a coming out party for the Chargers CB tandem of Verrett and Hayward. The offense is still too healthy to be contained for a whole game. Expect to be happy by the end of the night. Chargers 24 - 13 Broncos

John Gennaro: I think this one ends up being a blowout in favor of the Chargers. Their offense has too many weapons and they're going to against a defense in the transition away from Wade Phillips, not to mention a Denver offense that will struggle to put points on the board. I'm thinking Chargers win when it's all said and done. Chargers 31 - 13 Broncos

Daniel Stebbins: Chargers come out firing and score on their first drive. Hit a lull and fall behind but after the half, they find their rhythm and win going away. Broncos strong CB group and Von Miller aren't enough to stop the onslaught of healthy weapons LAC has right now while their offense just isn't good at all. Chargers 34 - 13 Broncos

Louis Gorini: The Chargers are getting the Broncos while Denver is banged up. LA will have success running the ball but I still feel like the Broncos pass rush and secondary will be to over powering for the Bolts offense. I am currently in a see-it-to-believe-it mode when it comes to the Chargers O line. LA's defense will keep them in it and make it a close game but I still think Denver prevails. Broncos 24 - 20 Chargers

Jamie Hoyle: I think the Broncos keep this close for around three quarters before their depleted front seven gives way to a steady diet of Melvin Gordon in the fourth quarter. I see 25-30 carries and 150 total yards for Gordon, a pair of Trevor Siemian turnovers leading to short fields for the Chargers, and the Bolts pulling away late thanks to a Gordon touchdown run. Chargers 23 - 13 Broncos

Aaron Woolley: I think the Chargers will ultimately win this game. They have the far superior quarterback who also has all of his weapons healthy. The Chargers offensive line is an issue, but Ken Whisenhunt has shown an ability to craft a game plan that is predicated on Rivers getting the ball out quickly. Denver will lead for most of the game, but a quick score ending with an MG3 TD run early in the 4th will turn the game around to favor the visiting team. Bosa and Melvin Ingram will come out with a sack or two each, and I wouldn't be surprised if Hayward and Verrett also record a pick each.

Garrett Sisti: We've heard all preseason long about the problems the Broncos have had on the edges and Monday night Bosa & Ingram take advantage. The Broncos D holds strong all game long but I think their quarterback puts them in some bad spots with some turnovers. Chargers win the field position battle and the game. Chargers 24 - 13 Broncos

Also funny to me that a few of the writers don't even know their own team and what is happening. The Chargers are far from healthy right now especially when it comes to the weapons for Philip Rivers. Mike Williams is for sure out. Inman doesn't look like he will be a go for the game. Tyrell Williams is another that has been dinged up and not practicing fully. They had to call up a WR if I remember right from their practice squad for this game. Should show they realize they are pretty thin at the position.

Couldn't quite remember the name. Again shows they realize they are thin. Any of their guys go down during the game and they will have to stick to 2-TE's pretty much the entire game. Given that woudln't be the worst thing ever with Hunter and Gates at the TE position.

I appreciate you helping me out over there. It amazes me how many people just copy what a reporter reports without actually looking into it themselves. That person jsut copied word for word that reporter and seemed a bit shocked when it wasn't true.
