Head coach is a different animal. Plenty of great coordinators that don't workout as head coaches. He is an excellent coordinator. Let's see if he gets a shot at head coach.

I think he deserves a shot though. I hated it when Mike started lying to the fans and the media on a regular basis and got down in the mud with Albert, Robert, and Donovan, insisted on a 34 when he got here, then hired a 43 coach to run it, etc......because I did not want to lose Kyle.

I think the QB might still be the issue. Kyle is a very smart guy when it comes to football. But the fruit never even got off the branch when it comes to how stubborn and MY WAY he can be. Much like his father.

I was excited when I heard the Browns hired him, but I was pretty unimpressed overall. Our offense seemed to be going pretty well early on in the season, but around the mid-point it flat out stalled. I don't know the exact cause of it...whether it was poor QB play or we just failed to adapt schematically or what. The JFF drama towards the end of the season certainly didn't help things.

I'm sure Shanahan will find another spot relatively quickly. The brownies seem to be in good hands with Pettine as HC and Farmer as GM, so hopefully they can keep those 2 at least for stability going forward. Offense is going to be interesting this next season.

I heard several times yesterday on ESPN, whether true or not I don't know, that the owner started to get involved in the play calling. If true, that could have been a factor.
