Doesnt Bryant already have 23 HR's?? Or is that just phrased really terribly?
He definitely already has 23.

He did break the Cubs rookie record for RBIs today surpassing Williams and Soto

You mean the guy hitting .215 with 50 ribbys?

I think his post was tongue-in-cheek.

Also, who the fuck cares about triple crown stats?

It was.

Not me. I literally have no clue who having a good season with RBIs. I don't even know who has the most on the Dodgers. I also don't care and I'd never look that up for my own information. RBIs are completely worthless to me.

Now we don't care about RBI? Lol. I an a fan of advanced metrics but at the end of the day the game is simple. Catch it, pitch it, hit it. You win by scoring more runs. You score more runs when someone drives runs in. When you do that a lot you help your team win... or do we not care about wins now either?

RBIs are a very misleading representation of run production.

Player A: hits a single
Player B: hits a double, player A advances to third
Player C: grounds out, runner on 3rd scores

Who played a bigger role in a run scoring?

I don't care about RBIs as a measure of how good a hitter is or how good I expect them to be.

As a stat that gets logged for pitchers, I do not care about wins at all. Does it matter to me if the team wins? Yeah, no shit. That's what all the advanced metrics are trying to get more of.

Yes, and a stat like WAR actually has a pretty good correlation with actual wins.

Yeah when 3 of the top 16 guys in WAR play for the Diamondbacks the stat is clearly flawless... LOL

You can have three very good players and still be a shitty team. The Diamondbacks have a crappy pitching staff, particularly their rotation.

Those guys are really good. The rest of their team isn't.
