Hope so! If he were to come back in a few games time we might actually start winning a few.

This is fine, it also allows him to keep getting his achillies stronger, even though he didn't re- injure it, wich is a good sign. Now just heal up that knee & be ready for next season.

The knee may take that long because it is not healing as fast as everyone has expected.

Said in tonight's game could have come back a month ago but chose to sit out and heal fully + to tank better. He did this despite his chances at a scoring title

That is true Hangman. He did get cleared to play a week or two ago but the knee was still tender and he had intermittent swelling after practice. That is when the Lakers stepped in and told him to take the rest of the season off.

He said he could play, but that the knee would hurt. He feels he could manage the pain (we've seen him do this plenty). It would make sense to do this if the Lakers were seriously contending. Makes absolutely no sense given the current situation. Get those knees right for these last two season Kobe.

Glad they stepped in. Even taking the ping pong balls out of it, there is no upside in him playing this year. Well, other than his own personal fulfillment. But its best for both parties to take it slow. Just let him get good practice reps him and let him barnstorm this summer if he's itching for games.

Dream on fans - Buss and and D'antoni are stuck until the Lakers improve.

Kobe is done...not just for the season but he is done forever. Wish all you want but we will never see the Kobe of yesterday on the court again. I'm sure he will try and come back next season but it won't help the Lakers at all...in fact it will hold the team back and slow down any rebuilding the team needs.

Unfortunately, I think you are right. I've never been a Kobe fan but I do appreciate hard work. A body has only so many jumps and miles.

He's been pounding the hard wood for a lot of years and it started to show the last two seasons. I've never been as high on Kobe as some Laker fans but I would be real happy to see him come back like he was three years ago but that's just not possible. I never thought I would see the Lakers in last place in their div. It makes me sick and everything should be done to turn that around...even dumping Kobe.

Kobe may force the issue Rambunctious especially if he continues to pound the FO on the notion he is not interested in being a component of a rebuild program and he wants to win now. They are indeed in full rebuild/tank mode and he could be the next big move out the door right after Don'tknowi walks through it.
