The Knicks have 1 all star. They aren’t on that level. Sorry.

The Knicks have 3 all stars currently on their roster.

Randle, Walker & Rose.
(though the last time Rose was one was 8 yrs ago with Chicago...and Walker last year with Boston)

I am talking about current, not past.

Those Pistons were all in their primes.

Kemba and Rose are not all star caliber players anymore.

Okay fair enough.
Imho however, Kemba might have an outside shot (longshot) to be one again...but he'd drastically have to turn up his output significantly and stay healthy...which btw, he seems to be only at around 65-75% right now.

Nope.

The 1 team in modern history to win a title without a superstar. Sure. They did, however have 4 all stars.

And they had the 2nd best record in the East.Preseason they had the 2nd best Vegas odds out of the East teams. They were always on the short list of contenders. Kind of akin to where the Miami Heat is today.

The Knicks have 1 all star. They aren’t on that level. Sorry.
lol , are all all star players really “star” players

Were any of those players on the pistons roster that year household names, Like Durant Jordan Shaq Kobe. Etc

IMO what they were were all overachievers who jelled at right time , played the game tough nite in and nite out…no f n crybabies! Blue collar players who were well coached !

What the fack has happened to thibs?
Out rebounded by 10 in first half ?

Yeah, no shit. Why was he just sitting on the sidelines instead of being on the court boxing out and grabbing rebounds like every other coach in the league?

No.

I said as much. The 1 time in the last 40+ years a team won a title without a superstar.

BUT…

They had 4 prime all stars and were viewed as one of the best teams in the league before the season started.

They weren’t some random group that came out of nowhere. That simply doesn’t happen in the NBA.

If there's a rash of injuries like these last playoffs to all the top players and the Knicks stay healthy, yeah they have a long shot. No reason not to hope. But it ain't happening this year.
Yeah it's not happening for the Knicks, the Cavs is a different story #BelieveLand

No I didn’t say that.

And I specifically have brought up that Pistons team as the 1 example of that many times.

Nice try.

And if you are comparing the current Knicks to those Pistons?

Not a single player on the current Knicks would have been able to start for that team. They didn’t have a superstar, but they had very good players who also fit together very well.

No chance.

You think he is starting over either Wallace?

Not happening.

And I have said you need a superstar to win a title if that is what you are talking about.

Showing the 1 example from the last 40 years that didn’t have 1 is not proving the point you are trying to make.

Those Pistons had many stars, just no superstars.

The Knicks don’t have that. Not even close.

Delusional Thibs, I had your back, no more!

You think you can compete with elite with guys like fornieu and walker, lol.

Better get back to what you are known for before you start gettin blown off court by all teams. not just the elite.

Robinson, worthless.

Randle , totally lost vs elite teams who play up on him.

Fornieau, if he don’t hit his 3, worthless , and disgrace on D.

Walker, every what? 4th game he gets got, for 1 Q?

Barret, send him to D league .

And the rest, trade for a bag a balls!

LOL. Weren’t you saying the Knicks could win a championship a couple weeks ago?

Thibs is not the GM of the team. His job is to okay the guys who give them the best chance to win.

Since the roster is mediocre, so are Thibs options.

No, I never said the current Knicks could win a championship, I said any competitive team in today’s game could win. Man, you can’t let go can you when you are called out for being proven wrong.

It took you 4 posts to finally accept that you did say ‘a championship team must have a superstar on the team.

Look, Thibs sold out, period. Yes the GM goes after what he feels will enhance a teams chances, but it’s the coach who lays the law of the land. And , in just one years time he went from emphasizing fundamentals to now rollin ball on the court , hurl up a ton of 3 ‘s and blamin refs for no calls… he’s been T’ed up far too many times.

I never said this roster was championship caliber, but you don’t regress this quickly when you made such strides in being a threat

If any competitive team can win as you say, then why has every champion in modern history been one of the top 4 or 5 teams in the league?

And usually 1 or 2.

You are way too much.
