He is saying that Borland could go to the Broncos late first or us early 2nd. Wow this kids stock has really risen. I like him as a player but I had no idea that his stock was this high. Do you really select him over Van Noy who Kiper also really likes in the early 2nd?

I think Kiper talks about our team tomorrow on first draft.

until I saw his tape, I was swayed by media hype...he's too short, too slow and has t-rex arms.
Do I believe he can go in the 1st...no, do i believe he'll still be there in the 3rd when we pick...yes.
He could be the 2nd coming of Zach Thomas.

borland is perplexing to me because i have watched him a lot . i like him and feel he will be a very good LBF type LB for us

but it is hard of me not to think he is a bit of a reach at 34 . if we trade down then perhaps but man he will make it tough on us to pass

I think Kiper loves his intelligence and says he is just a straight up player. And that may be very well true. But you need some athletic ability to go with that. It doesn't sound to me like he has that to be a 1st rounder.

i dont think he is a 1st rounder but the risk for us is does he get by green bay in round 2 ? he is a local kid

I think so, Green Bay will probably address TE in the 2nd. Plus....
#Badgers ILB Chris Borland off one NFL team board with left shoulder problem. Has had two ops already on it; team M.D. feels he's need third

well then perhaps he drops to the 4th or 5th . the 3rd shoulder operation means i pass in the 2nd and 3rd rounds

Borland was mentioned on the podcast by Kiper as a possible take. McShay felt like (ready for this Shark) if there was a RT there worth taking, they should do it and not really think about it much. CB/S was also mentioned as a possible position to target as well as DL. Nothing we didn't already know. Nothing earth shattering.

My prediction is that we use the 34th pick on defense. My bet is we go either S or ILB. I don't think any of the RTs we will be interested in will be there when our pick comes up. I also don't think Benjamin will be there.

Well that means Borland or Ward jy19. Unless you view Van Noy as a ILB. I think its a RT(Moses, or Kojo) or Van Noy

Ward is a definite possibility. There is also a possibility that someone drops. I don't think it will be borland if the shoulder injuries are true. have they had Slov in for a visit? 34 is probably too high for him, but they might trade back and take him later in the 2nd. Moses won't be there.

I watched some tape on Borland last night. The kid is a football player. He does have short arms. He tackles the way you want players to tackle. He attacks the opponents waist. Tackling high looks good and results in big hits but players run through or bounce off of high tackles. Tackling low can be effective until the you put your head down and get a move put on you or you get hurdled. Tackle the waist and you will rarely miss.
