You are right. Showing more power than what he was showing in the minors. Plus he is still growing into his body at this age so his power should increase. Should.

He'll end up being a 30+ guy for sure, maybe as early as this year

22 2 years ago, mostly against A+ pitchers, and 14 last year mostly against AA pitchers

Nicholas with 2 more hits tonight which raises his average to .358. Suddenly we are awash in catcher talent.

Between Mazara, Profar, Odor, Rua, Gallo, and Brinson, this team has the potential to be scary good on offense for a really long time.

And that's why I see no reason to dump a huge contract on Desmond. Hell, we may have a huge window open up with these guys.

Wow. Moreland walked. He has even struggled doing that because he has been swinging at pitches out of the zone.

No, he just makes great contact. What was his hit tool graded at? I bet it had to be high.

I'll have to look but I recall it being pretty high.

I wouldn't want anything beyond 2 years because I still feel we will need someone to play CF next year. If he wanted more than that then I would want us to pass. It also depends on what we do with the current roster before next season as far as moves made.

He has excellent plate coverage and doesn't try and overswing, he's got natural power
Which is what pairs well with Gallo's raw power. A guy with a hit tool like Maz won't be slump proof, but he will work his way out faster than someone with lesser plate discipline.

Agreed. Then guys like Cordell and Guzman are not that far away as well. That is why I am willing to dump Prince and also trade Choo in the offseason. Make room for a better team.

Agree on Desmond. He's definitely a much better player than his numbers over the last 2 years have shown, but probably not as good as his numbers this season and certainly not worth a long-term investment when we have so much other younger talent ready to go.

He'll get 3-4 at minimum.

Has anyone kept track of how Alfaro is doing?

I'd say he's more or less average with a plus arm
For some reason I actually think he covers a lot of ground. I think his tall frame may make him look like he does not have speed.

55 on the 80 scale as of last year, I'm guessing that number has gone up substantially

His power rated as 65 but it wasn't in game power yet
