KFAB will no longer be the Huskers radio affiliate in Omaha

The one complaint I have is that KFAB has such great signal strength. I've listened to a Husker football game in Minnesota on 1110 before, which is kind of ridiculous.

I remember my dad telling me he could pick up KFAB in southern California at night time back in the 60's.

I lose 1620 about 20 miles north of Wichita. Not sure how far 590 goes.

It's 590, not 1620. According to some Facebook comments I saw on an OWH article, western Nebraska gets 590 better than 1110.

I'd be surprised if western Nebraska gets 590 better than 1110. Maybe 590 upgraded their transmitters and I just didn't hear about it.

Yeah I saw that. I find it a bit surprising too, but I also don't live out there so I am just basing that off of the comments I saw. I will be driving out to Colorado in a couple weeks...maybe I'll have to do a little experiment on the way out.

I've never tried to see how far 590 reached. Never had a reason to.

The furthest I've picked up KFAB is Montana. Once again it was at night and I was in the mountains.

Next time I travel I'll check 590. I guess I have a reason to now.

See which signal you can pick up better. 1110 or 590.

Do it at night where the sun's not interfering with the signal. Your car radio will work if you're out in the open or on a hill. Be sure you're on AM (duh).

I wish!!! I'm in Nebraska. I usually get 590 pretty well when I travel, but I don't know if I've gotten it past say North Platte. It wasn't at night time though with no sun interference. Never tried 1110
