This is exactly my line of thinking. Malik and mixon to me are best players available.
Agreed. I wana swing for the fences. Either of them could easily be one of the best players in the league in a year.

You said you would target a dlineamn in the 2nd along with RB. Hell no to McDowell. Huge boom or bust player. Why wouldn't you want an OLB? that doesn't make sense to me. I take Williams(Bama), Bower, and Willis over McDowell right now.
I could of seen your point if we couldn't get Allen in the 1st round and took Harris the OLb but taking 2 DE back to back doesn't make much sense to me.
I cant see how Dline is a target right now. RB, OLB, and FS should be the targets. Lamp could be a possibility but I think he is gone before 49. Its going to be fun to see if Cook or Mixon slip.
There you go putting words in my mouth. I said D-line was STILL a target. NO where in there did I say it had to be in the second round. Now yes I did Imply that if there was a D-lineman with first round talent sitting there at 49, I would lean towards that pick depending on who else was on the board at that time.
And IM sorry but McDowell would be more of a DT/NT than a DE in any case.
I would be busy trading up to get Mixon first or Cook second. My 2nd rd pick this yr and one of our 4th rd picks this yr. I want one of these backs.
No. He is a 3-4 De who can rush the passer. he is not a run stuffer at all. lol.
Thats funny since almost every draft report has him listed as a DT/NT. And again, if he is the most talented player on the board, you dont pass on him because we still have need on the D-line.
How is dline not a target right now? I think getting babied by the giants in week 17 should say otherwise
Simple. With Allen on board and the Mac guys that is more than enough at DE. McDowell does not fit as a NT in a 3-4 defense. His talent is his pass rush for his size. He has bad work ethic. I say pass. We can get a NT later in the draft.
You need more than 1 guy. He can't do all the work. I like McDowell though. His motor never stops
I think Jones' upright running style and lack of instincts is as big a problem as his fumbling, because he's not going to last phsyically playing RB in the NFL, imo - and that's what caused him to get injured last year. He's a terrific athlete, but he should not be playing RB in the NFL.It's amazing to me that some many are ready to move on from Jones because of his fumbling problem only to draft Cook with the same problem. No one seems to care that Cook fumbles, not until we draft him and cost us a few big games. Then everyone will be wishing we drafted Mixon who is running rough shot over us play for the Eagles.
For NT?
Depends on who we are planning to move up for. Cook or Mixon likely wont last until 49, but I also like McDowell at that spot. This draft went side ways the moment Trubisky went at #2. After sleeping on it, the league might just self adjust and guys who should be 2nd rounders are actually still there for us. Im thinking RB and D-line are our next targets, but not sure which is more pressing. And some where in there they will want to grab another edge rusher.
You right Shark it just screwed up my draft. There are some nice first rd talent in the top half of the 2nd rd and I wouldn't mind it one bit to trade up and pick up a rb.
Brantley would be a better complement to Allen, but if McDowell is the BPA, then I won't complain if the Skins pick him.Thats funny since almost every draft report has him listed as a DT/NT. And again, if he is the most talented player on the board, you dont pass on him because we still have need on the D-line.
We only play in our base 25-30% of the time. McDowell can play inside in our base or sub package. Yes, we grouth in two FA, and we drafted Allen.... We still have two very raw guys from last year... But to say we wouldnt be better with another D-lineman if he is the BPA at 49.....
Come on man

Depends on what it costs us to move up.
If it costs us the 3rd rounder and all we get is a RB... well I might question it a little. We need another starter (RB or D-line) and a projected starter (RB, D-line, or Edge rusher) out of these next two picks.
