9th total offense
14th turnovers
11th 1st downs
19th 3rd downs
23 scoring avg

i contend we had way too many long fields to cover to get points our return game was horrible

so i say again the defense will determine if we are contenders or not . the offense has a lot of weapons now so they should put up points

And i contend that 40% of those yards and stats were generated when playing from behind in games we had pretty much already lost. Many of us give Romo no credit because his stats are inflated in garbage time games. The same could be said for our offense last year.

an offense that has DJAX garcon reed , roberts and morris should be better with a fully healthy RG3

I agree the offense SHOULD be better. I think the defense IS better than you give them credit for. With the amount of talent they have given him, if this offense isnt top five this year barring injury, then yes the bust label will be atleast considered.

I wouldn't even attempt to predict the records of any NFC team. Last year I said the Eagles were better than their 2012 record and this year I say the same about the Skins. It may be the easy way out but since I can see any of the four winning the east I'll simply say we all go 8-8. Yes I think the east is that close. If RG I I I bounces back you all have a great shot, if Dallas' D just plays a little better without the injuries they have a great shot, same with the Giants and their OL injuries. If Foles is what he was last year they more than likely win it. I just don't think that's who he is.

I actually agre with you. Bob should be better this year. But I maintain my doubts that he will ever be worth what we paid for him. as you say, he has to prove it on the field.

And history says our defense has been middle of the pack recently. You say they are the worst i the galaxy.

You are right, the defense has sucked at every possible measurable point. How could I ever question our all powerful offense and QB. After all, we have put the resources into the defense needed to actually have a top ten defense or even a top 15 defense. HOw could I not have seen this?? Thanks again for correcting me in the fact that I was wrong. You win. I look forward to our Offense dominating the NFL, if only our crappy defense wasnt so crappy.

it isnt a question of questioning the offense shark . what i am saying is the defense will make the difference . the defense will have to win some games for us if the defense comes out and posts a 28th ranking we are 6-10 if they post a 15 we are in the 9-7 range

That dog dont hunt. The defense was statistically ranked 28th in 2012 and we won the division.

And in fact, when we won the division in 99 the defense was ranked 30th out of 31 teams.

BUt Iam hoping the defense does step up and refute the apologists. I assume we can take off the table the excuse of NOT enough talent on the offense now right?? Think that drum has ben beat to death after all.

To me, a team can win with a good O and a poor D, but odds are ya need more balance to go deep in the Playoffs. Very few teams win a SB with a below average D. Hell, usually even avg Ds have actually shown up in offensively won SBs.

CAli... I get that. Part of my point is simply this... for the past four years we have spent way more resources on the offense. And yet when its gone wrong, some people want to cry the defense sucks. I think our defense is not as bad as some want to claim. I put very little stock in total yards given up because its a subjective stat to a point. Gotcha and I agree with most of your post. Think it was a confluence of events last year tho. All phases of the team just broke down beyond all repair. The injury, the pass protection, the Shannys, our punting, our tackling, the injuries to our secondary and having to rely on noobs, Hazmat, that idiot STs coach, depth and the salary cap, the F'ing media and social media...You name it, it went wrong. Lotta blame to go around IMO.

first off shark this team has finished last 5 of 6 years and the defense has been abysmal

the shanny's had one winning season and it was the "gimmick offense " that delivered it

to be a consistent winner you need solid play at the LOS a decent defense that can tackle , good special teams play and good QB play

hazmat has had a career of pedestrian defenses . it has been said he was handcuffed under shanny . ok well the excuses are over . either he will produce a good defense or he wont

i think he needs more safety and cb help so it may take another year to get him the tools

so i can wait as long as we dont go backwards

but we wont win more then 6 games unless the defense stops missing tackles and turns TDS into FGS when in bad field position and gets the ball to the offense in some short fields
