18 team... must keep four (first four rounds of draft)

WR get a point every 7 yards
PPR full point
Half point per rush attempt

QB - Cam Newton (pretty much a must)
RB - Gio, Stacy, Vereen, Tate
WR - Harvin, Allen, Decker, Crabtree
TE - Gonzo is gonzo

I have pick 13 in round 5. (snake)

Interesting and based upon who you have listed assume you did well last year. Scoring seems to favor WR and you already favor Cam as one of the 4 - - regardless, I'd say go with Gio, Vereen and Crabtree.

Not sure why cam is a must!! I guess it all depends on where in the top 10 QB you think he is this season... But remember that he does not have great weapons, and he is coming off surgery...

If you only start one QB, I may actually not keep him(since I don't think there is much difference between QB #5 and QB #13)

If not keeping cam then I would keep Gio, Stacy, keenan allen, and Crabtree...

If you are keeping Cam, I would not keep crabtree...

Can you make preseason trades??

Cam is a must because this is an 18 team league and you can't win anything with E.J. Manuel as your QB. Everyone can't even have a back up QB that actually starts in the NFL.

Not worried about Cam's receivers, don't kid yourself, Cotchery had 10 TD last year with Big Ben. Benjamin is the unknown... and of course, there's the rushing factor with Cam. He nearly won me the league last season, after I traded for him (C-Kap, DMC, Josh Gordon...for Cam, Pierre Thomas, Keenan Allen) I was 1-5, and finished 8-6, and lost in the semis. (Thomas was later moved for Decker)

... and I like your ballsy pick of Vereen over Stacy (I've been leaning that way)

If trading is allowed, I think you will be in great shape... But I would definitely be looking to improve on QB... I understand in an 18 team league, you may want to keep him just to protect yourself from the possibility to get someone not that good... But I am very low on Cam this season...

I even prefer RG3 over Cam this season!!! Not sure if cam is in MY top 10 QB this season...

But with 8 players(including Cam) that I consider keepers in an 18 team league, I think you can easily improve on any keeper...

I think Vereen and Gio are your no brainers in a PPR league. The other two I would keep are Crabtree and Stacy. I honestly think you could probably draft Cam again where you will be picking. The highest he went in the two drafts we just did for suicide was the 1st pick of the 7th round. I would keep the 3 running backs because I think everybody else is going to keep at least two running backs so getting another viable starting option in the 5th round is going to be difficult especially with the value you would be getting by keeping Stacy.

Cam, Gio, Vareen, well. .. any of those WR's would be decent keepers, except maybe Decker in Gang Green. My personal choice would be Keenen Allen, but only slightly over Harvin because of the injury concerns.

As far as Cam, not only does the league size basically mandate him being kept, but honestly, the big reason many are down is because he had no receivers right? Well let's be real for a minute, he only had one NFL starting caliber WR since he's been in the league, and that one has been declining for some time. . So it's not like he finished as the #4 QB those first two years with Rice and Moss to throw to anyways. He'll be just fine.

Its more than just the Receiving corp... Its also the off season surgery...
And it is the team being a defensive team first... I can see them playing low scoring games for the majority of the season...

The health, offensive talent, and the team philosophy is just not a good formula for him to have a great season... Not saying he should not be owned, but i don't think he is in my top 10 this season!!!

Just to quickly touch on those points. .
The panthers, whether it's John Fox or Ron Rivera, have been a defensive built run based offense, team for more than a decade. So the philosophy isn't going to be much, if any, different than his first 3 years.
The ankle surgery? Sure maybe a concern, but all information points to him being 100% and all reports saying they don't intend to limit his running so in my book I don't give it much weight. Overall health wise, the guy has never missed a game, not sure what else a fantasy owner wants there.

And lastly, don't disregard the half point o'er rush attempt in this league. 10 rushes, for no yards even, is basically 100 yards passing in fantasy points. That gives Cam a couple sous higher in a league like this as opposed to a standard

Just wondering, where you would have him in QB ratings this season??

Wow, didn't realize how much i don't like him this season... I have him as the 15th or 16th best QB this season... That surprised me!!!

In a standard league? Probably in the 8-10 area. I haven't done my rankings quite yet, but off the top of my head, I can only think of about 5 QB's that I would definitely want over Cam

Cam and Gio look like the no brainers.

Stacy and Vereen are pretty close in PPR. I think I would just take both. That way, you could go WR,WR with your first two picks. I bet that one of your guys will still be there at 13, and I see very little difference between Harvin, Crabby, Allen and Decker. I think you could still grab another pretty good WR in round 2.

I love Vereen in PPR, and just don't see how I could recommend letting Stacy go in favor of any of those WRs.

Don't get confused though with the ppr when it comes to RBs... 10 Receptions=20 rushing attempts

So it kind of is a moot point...

I debated long and hard about saying that very same thing. Not a bad option at all, just not the way I'd end up going. Very strong start of a team in an 18 teamer either way you go

First: shame on me... forgot to mention it's QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, W/R Flex, TE....K and D

Second: milk, and anyone else not thinking Cam, other than listen to Treff, I would add, don't misjudge the size of the league and the necessity of keeping Cam. Milk, this just isn't 2014, this is forever...and not a chance he gets to me at 13.

Third: trading for a QB is not that easy. ...do you know how hard it was moving Gordon? Worked out for me thanks to his boneheadity for now... for now.

I don't like cam this year but I understand why you would want to keep him.

I understand it will be hard to upgrade any keeper but I have faith that you will do all u can. You have so much trade bait. It's definitely worth a try. I would try to package cam with Vereen and Crabtree to see if u can get stafford or better. But I would definitely avoid keeping 3 RB. And I think Vereen is your third. Ppr means nothing for RBs since 10 receptions= 20 carries
