Robert Griffin III gives us the best option at QB this year and for the immediate future. If you can't see it by now then there is nothing more to say on the subject.

Agreed he has to stay on the field. The difference of course is Griffin has been great in this league, Captain Checkdown has not. As I said before if the trade was our undoing then why do the Rams have the same record that we do? Shouldn't they have used all those picks and built a dynasty by now?

Skinsdad.. we both know that just because some one is not out in the open with the moves they are making does not mean that ultimately they are not pulling the strings.

Secondly I do agree Kirk needed to take the job in order to hold it. But lets be honest, RG3 has never had to take the job because it was handed to him the moment he was picked. He has never had to compete for the job because it has been widely known that its his job and it would take some one performing at a very high level for him to lose it.

As far as Rg3 having to seize the job at this point, if we are honest we both know that the only reason he wont be on the field is injury. He could come back and we could lose out horrendously and he will still be the starter next year. And while I dont think he deserves the 5th year option to be picked up, would you really be surprised when we do in fact pick it up?

i used the word "seems " for a reason . i cant tell you what is going on behind closed doors

however i deal in facts . i dont go for "smoking guns " or "speculation " or anonymous source BS . if you have the goods then say it

to many times last off season crap about Rg3 was supposedly fact when in fact it was nothing of the sort

as for a number 2 pick going to a team without a qb i dont see why that is an issue especially when he had a rookie year for the ages

if he doesnt perform shark he will be benched . he was last season and again gruden doesnt have a horse in this race . god forbid it could be that Rg3 is in fact the best qb we have ?

right now i can only see 2 qbs who could be available to us matt ryan could be had as could sam bradford , maybe jake locker

now i know heads will turn about ryan but 2 straight heavy loss seasons could make an opening available

You say that as if the Rams also failing some how validates the trade. Fact is that what the Rams eventually do has no bearing on if the trade was a dumb idea in the first place. If you walk into a store and pay ten times what a TV was worth and the sales man blows his commission on strippers the next day, that does not validate the stupidity in overpaying for the TV on your part does it??

As far as griffin having already been great.... how many one year wonders have gone through the NFL in just our combined life times alone?? He was great in a system we no longer run and he has no desire to run. He has shown to be an average at best pocket passer.

So you are claiming that if the Rams were 6-2 and our picks turned into great players that were a big reason for their success you would not be using that as ammo to back up the position you have held since the day of the trade? Child please, you know you would. So I'll do it too.

As for Griffin being a one year wonder I"m still looking for you to provide me with a list of one year wonder QBs.. I've got Young and Vick, who else you got? Sure Griff could be a one year wonder but I'll take my chances on him being better than Sam Bradford. And again if we had not made the trade we wouldn't even have a QB as good as Bradford. So we would have been in even worse shape.

As for the system again Gruden ran the read option twice in Game 2, don't be so sure he is married to his old system. Again the read option is not a gimmick, it's run by half the league including the champs.

First off my position on the trade had nothing to do with what the Rams could get with the picks and everything to do with the fact that we were dealing for a slight upgrade to Mike Vick. And that sir is what we have at the moment.

Secondly, just because Gruden ran a couple of read option plays does not tell me he wants to start running the same offense we ran in 2012. It does tell me that Gruden is realizing what Kyle figured out ealry, that RG3 isnt a pocket passer. I admit the Read option is not a gimmick. BUt much like the wildcat, if your offense can only run that style of play and be productive... you are basically fucked.

Any chance at all that we can stop revisiting this?

No one is completely wrong and no one is completely right...in the end, it's all just opinions and perspective.

Just my :2cents:
