this isnt even about rg3, why do you bring him up on every damn thread. kirk turns the ball over way too much, his confidence is gone, thats why hes benched. if mccoy sucked ass last week i think kirk would be starting this week. but no, its all rg3. rg3 demanded we trade 3 1sts and a 2nd for him so he could suck on purpose setting the franchise back 5 years. seriously, when you walk outside and its raining do you go "fuckin rg3, this is his fault!". your posts are laughable now shark. i respect u as a poster when you talk about other things than rg3. problem is you talk about rg3 90% of the time.

I kind of agree with this last part. I enjoy Shark, as I said he's always around to respond to the last post. But seriously his vile for Griffin has damaged his credibility, it's just hard to take him seriously now. To blame Griff for the benching of Cousins? Are you kidding me? Then he boasts that you know he's right. LOL. Next he will be blaming Griffin for all the interceptions Cousins has thrown.

The man has lost his marbles. Damn shame, hope he comes to his senses soon because he seems like a good guy.

Yeah really. Shark your agenda is laughable about now. How in the world is a QB who is on the shelf responsible for what took place on Sunday as well as who is starting on Monday night? Cousins' play forced Gruden to make a move to Colt. He is staying with Colt based on the play of both QBs last Sunday. RGIII is as much of a factor in the benching of Cousins as Mark Mosely is.

Sorry dude, thats bullshit. The question was asked if Kirk was done in DC or done period. If you dont think a bigger part of him being done in DC has nothing to do with him or his play, you got blinders on. IN any other situation a young QB would not have been on a 5 game trial period. Or would you disagree??

DGF , as much as shark and i bantor , i love the guy . he is and always has been a respected poster and that hasnt changed

he makes his point and he doesnt get personal with it

now he wont move off of Rg3 anymore then i would have moved of JC or RAK now

now to answer the question , no KC isnt done in Dc and he shouldnt be . he is a young qb with a shaky o/line so mistakes will be made

i think he should start vs dallas not colt

i think Rg3 and KC will be around for a while

and yes he can be a NFL starter and he doesnt have to be a "franchise guy " to be effective

As much as I think Kirk could develop into a good pocket passer, fact is he doesnt need to start another game this season. His confidence is shot and thats something not likely to get fixed in the Redskins situation. His play is liable to et worse rather than better for a few reasons right now. In another situation I would say he just needs to play through it, but with this team, he would get to the point of unfixable real quick.

Let McCoy play, bring back RG3 when ever he is ready, and start playing the young guys at every spot to see what we have. This season is all but lost at this point any way.

Let's not gloss over the whole "win now" mentality that permeates the NFL family and fans. There is absolutely no appetite for patience when the subject is QB and far too much in the realm of expectation for QB's drafted with upper first round picks. Where is it that we find situations where young mid first round and lower QB's being groomed for future starter status? Most if not all are there in the event of injury to the starter and not the future of their respective teams. I'm willing to bet that there is not one team that now believes that playoff success and Superbowl aspirations lie solely in the hands of their starter and die with the backup. The shame of it all is that fans have come to love this watered down version of NFL excellence.

It is funny that so many have decided Cousins fate before he has ever started a years worth of games. Of course we do the same thing with Griffin. Do you think Colt fans said Manning will never be any good his first year when he threw 22 INTs?

Can Cousins eventually start in the NFL? It is possible with more experience he could. He has made some really good throws. He is on pace to throw a lot of TDs and for a lot of yardage. He is also on pace throw a lot of INTs. Not uncommon for a young QB. No way of telling right now if he would be a very good starter in a few years but to say it can't happen is not know either and it is still possible.

I agree with Shark that Cousins will not get a chance to start here unless something catastrophic happens. The FO office invested a lot in Griffin so I don't think they are going to write him off quickly. I don't think they should write him off. He needs to get healthy and find his level in this league. If it is ever going to happen for Kirk it will most likely be with another team.

I have been around this board for some time and since we moved to SportsHoopla it is a much better board. One of the things we got away from is name calling and negative comments. dad has done a good job of keeping us all in order. Shark is a long, long time member and a respected poster. Everyone doesn't have to agree with him but lets keep things on a respectful level.

Wow, didn't think I was over the top when I called out a poster for blaming an injured player for the benching of a QB who has 11 turnovers in 6 games, all losses. But obviously I did so apologies. Just seems as if Shark is so over the top on his hate for Griff that it's resulting is some crazy ass stuff coming off his keyboard. But maybe it's just me.

I agree with Dad here. Shark is a long time respected poster that has a huge bug up his ass for RG3. Actually, what really bothers him is those select few that do not hold RG3 accountable for anything and blame others for all the negative that happens to him and this team over his tenure here. This does not mean that I agree with him on the constant RG3 blame game. The guy has his faults and was partly culpable with what went down last season between him and the Shanahans. But he also can't be held responsible for KC's benching or the piss poor play of the OL. The OL is poor no matter who lines up behind center and needs an upgrade. This is not an excuse for RG3's lack of pocket skills, just a statement of fact.

i think most of us agree with this assessment. I haven't heard one poster claim that Griff is a done deal stud yet Shark continues to contend that some this way. Again I did not mean to attack him as I did and I apologize. But with that said if he is going to throw out stuff like an injured Griffin was to blame for the benching of a QB who has given several games away with his poor play, then follow it up with "you know I'm right", well in message board land that kind of makes him fair game IMO.

Shark's a big boy and can take care of himself. I saw nothing wrong in your response. BTW, there are a few that refuse to acknowledge any wrong doing by RG3 in that fiasco. Any attempt to point out his flaws and questionable actions is met with the response that we are making things up and its all CSI. That's usually when Shark goes off the deep end and digs in with its all RG3's fault.

I'm not talking about the CSI, I was not here for that. He has contended that some of us consider Griffin a stud right now and all of his problems have been on others such as the OL. That is simply not true, I haven't seen anyone take that position.

Look dude, not to beat a dead horse here. But any decision to bench a player, especially a young QB, has some outlying factors. And the fact is, Griffin being on roster and getting close to being considered healthy DID have some impact on the decision to bench Cousins. IM not saying it was the only reason. But it does play into this. In most NORMAL situations a young QB playing like Cousins has played would not be benched for a journeyman backup. Take it for the unique situation that it is, and you will see that there is LOGIC applied to everything I have said on this situation. In most cases its mot logical to bench a QB that is moving the ball and putting up points unless you have a better option or what you might consider a better option. Now I doubt any of us really thinks McCoy is a better option.

Its funny that i mentioned multiple reasons why I actually think Cousins is done in DC. But every one wants to act as if the presence of RG3 isnt a major, or even a minor factor in Cousins fate.

If he benched Cousins for Griffin you would have a point. But Gruden benched Cousins for the only option he had, something called Colt McCoy who has been downright terrible in his NFL career. That tells us just how badly Cousins had played. It had nothing to do with Griffn and everything to do with Cousins throwing away game after game with poor play. If you think Griffin had anything to do with the decision to bench Cousins for McCoy you would be the only one. Again Griffin was not healthy, was not an option, and had absolutely nothing to do with the decision to put Colt in for Kirk. I'm struggling to find any logic what so ever for your opinion other than hate for Griff.

You make the case right there. He benched a QB who has played in a total of 13 games for a journeyman that has by your own account has been down right terrible. IN what NORMAL situation would any coach bench a kid who has played a total of six games for him for a QB who is known to be terrible?? Unless there is another factor. Griffin is a factor in this because they expect him back soon. If that we re not the thinking, benching Cousins serves NO point. After all you dont really think Colt McCoy is going to lead a magical turn around or that he could be the future of this team do you?? And before you say well any QB performing like Cousins would be benched, I have shown many times where young QB's have done exactly what Cousins does and DIDNT get benched. YOu dont bench a guy unless you

1. Have a better option
2. Think you have a better option.

McCoy is neither of these. So yes the presence of RG3 DOES factor into that decision.

Coaches bench QBs who throw away games all the time. And make no mistake Kirk Cousins played his way to the bench, that is beyond discussion by now. He went to Colt because he was most definitely the better option and we saw the results. Gruden had absolutely no reason to believe that Kirk would suddenly stop turning the ball over and suddenly start playing well in the 2nd half for the first time all year. Why would he?

Again shark this has absolutely nothing to do with Robert Griffin The Third and everything to do with 11 turnovers in 6 games all of the them losses until Colt came in,

Again Dude, I think you are letting your over protectiveness for Rg3 taint your opinion.

Coaches do bench QBs all the time, but usually not after 5-6 games, and not for some one that most would see as a worse alternative. IF you cant see that this is a unique situation and Rg3's presence plays a part in the handling of Cousins, I dont know what else to say.
