Kansas State not Texas is NU's Big test!

I don't get it on 2 fronts.

1. I don't get the people that are scared of Kansas St. They are more than 1 dimensional. This isn't the first time the Pelini's have played Thomas. It isn't like they are going to run this same defense against Kansas St that they do against Washington. I am not afraid of Kansas St AT ALL!!!!!!!!!! Plus once we go up by a few TDs they won't be able to rely on the run and then they will be done.

2. I don't get the people that are chalking up the Texas game as a win right now. The way both defenses look right now the score might end up like the Oklahoma/Nebraska game last year or maybe even the Kansas/North Dakota St game this year. Nebraska has not been able to win a "marquee" game for a very long time and the Texas game will obviously be a "marquee" game. Our offense may be looking really good so far during the season but they have not seen a defense like Texas yet.

Oh I think NU will handle K. State just fine. Thomas has absolutely no supporting cast and Zac Lee could walk in and start for them. I'm just trying not to be too much of a homer. Every team has at least one game where they come out flat and it lingers through the entire game. Even Bama was a blocked FG from losing to Tenn last year..

Texas/NU could be just like the Big XII championship last year.
Last Saturday Tech had a virtually the same cast as last year and Texas shut them down..

Jed, I agree 99%. Only part I disagree with is K-State. Last year we performed WAY better against the run at this point in the season. If K-State pounds the ball like everyone else has early in the game vs us, they will not have to go to the pass, and keep it close until the end. But if we go up early by a few scores like we did at Washington and force them to pass, then yes, we will pick their pass game apart and destroy them.

I am worried about the K-State game b/c I am worried they will over look it a little bit. It is the first real game we have for almost 3 weeks. I think we can beat them and are the better team I just think they will really be ready for us.

As for Texas, there D looks great but I am not sure there offense can put up more than 10 points on our defense. They look a lot like ours did last year, I am sure Martinez will not be able to run against Texas like they did against Washington but they should be able to put up a couple TD's.
