If the O's players need a KC player quote to get 'fired up' to win in the playoffs, they got much bigger problems...

This could actually really help KC. Assuming they complete the 4-0 or 4-1 series victory, this delay would mean that they would have less downtime between the ALCS and the World Series.

The Royals starter today, besides being a former Oriole himself, sports a 270 wOBA against vs Righties (13th among qualified starters). However, he isn't one of the worst rate pitchers by FIP for no reason though- his wOBA against vs Lefties is 364.


On a cold day in the worst park in the league to hit homers in, whose home team sports the best OF defense coincidently this year, there may be method to Yost's madness by starting Guthrie in game 3 of the ALCS up 2-0.

I didn't construe it as trash talk. Maybe not necessary talk, but it is what a lot of baseball folks were processing. When you go on the road in a playoff series and take those first two.... history says your chances are VERY good to win the series. And vice versa, you lose those first two at home... outlook not so good.
