No offense man, but that's typical homer talk. We as fans like to act like we know what the star player is thinking behind the scenes. In reality, we have no idea. Every year, after a team wins the SB all the fans start talking about keeping the team together and "hometown discounts" and how a certain player is not money driven. I remember all of Baltimore talking about it with Joe Flaco. If RW has another solid year, he will be asking for 20mil+. It's the NFL and they ALL play for the money.

Seriously. I had some guy tell me that Golden Tate was a "true Seahawk", becuase he was willing to take less money in order to stay on the team. Hilarious. Ask Golden Tate if he'd take league minimum if the Raiders were offering him #1 money. He'd be out the door faster than you can say "12th Man".
I like Russell Wilson... a lot. I think he's a phenomenal person and a damn good QB. But, if anybody thinks he's going to halve (exaggeration) his salary just to stay in Seattle, they're in for a rude awakening. The 'Hawks will lock this guy up long before he hits the free agent market. They'd be foolish not to. But, just because the team just won the Super Bowl, doesn't mean they're immune from salary cap woes. That's the beauty of the NFL. Hell... Sidney Rice and Red Bryant were just handed their walking papers last week.
If they've got a smart front office in Seattle (and there's no indication they aren't) they'll make things work. With the right moves, they could turn this team into a dynasty. But, 3 years with a bunch of guys on rookie contracts doesn't make them geniuses. And it certainly doesn't make any of the players any "different", either.
