Colin Kaepernick Is Following Through On His Charity Donation Promise

One of the frequent criticisms to Kaepernick’s protest is that some people find it hollow unless he does something tangible. Fair or not, people see Kaepernick getting down on one knee and demanding change, but they find these actions hollow unless they lead to him actually doing something.

To combat that, Kaepernick has pledged to donate $1 million to help communities, and Niners owner Jed York has pledged that he will follow in his backup quarterback’s footsteps and donate $1 million from the 49ers Foundation. On Tuesday, Kaepernick clarified how he plans on donating the massive chunk of change. Even better, Kaepernick announced that he plans on making it easy for people to follow along and hold him accountable for making all of these donations.

He should be saving his paychecks...he's already one foot off the gravy train, and I doubt he has any other skills that will help him get a real job after football. He will be another one we read about that is on welfare and food stamps.

I agree, I think he is donating more because the public is pushing him to do it. I don't agree with that for one, because it is his money and he shouldn't be guilted into donating it to anything he doesn't want to, and two, it feels forced even though I don't think his reasoning is.

well said. he is only doing this to get into the good graces of the people bashing him right now. Now, IF he said this PRIOR to him protesting then ok, good for you... But I aint buying his "charity" crap nonsense right now. But glad he is making it public so we can truly track him

Depends who you mean by "people". Most people would like someone to give to charity because it is the right thing to do and they want to help people...not so they can say 'see, look what I did and how good i am'...

Maybe, but you seem awfully biased on the topic. Who donates money and immediately runs out and tells everyone? To me it's no one but people who are more interested in the world knowing thy donated than they are interested in actually giving money.
