He’s still being sold as Super Bowl / MVP caliber QB material worth starting QB money. The average backup makes $1-2M/yr and is just glad to be able to play. Maybe they win the lottery and get to start some games down the line. But Kaepernick has gone down this road of calling the whole NFL racist and blackballing conspiracy for so long, he doesn’t realize his value has dropped to sub- Colt McCoy / AJ McCarron levels. He actually was a solid QB his last year until you made him throw past 5 yards. He was a running QB that once teams realized he didn’t have an arm to throw deep he was screwed. If he humbled himself and takes a backup contract he could be RGIII but guessing he wouldn’t accept that or he would’ve been a Seahawk two years ago.
