Meh...The 80's sucked fucking balls. Every good band in here, equated to you being a social pariah.

DIRTHEADS RULE!!
I have to disagree with, but I don't think you're a complete ass wipe, so we're good.
I will grant most of the better 80s bands started out in the 70s but there hay days were 80's

I love you mang, but I hate all things U2. Hate em'. Them and REM are the "bug the living fuck out of me" bands for me. Joshua Tree was well-produced. It's a well-done album. It's not my bag, but it's well-made. The rest makes me want it plunge an ice pick into my eardrums.

U2 late 90s thru today? No thanks. And I'm no U2 groupie... But it's way better than the shit coming out today.

late 80s for me was more Def Leopard and NWA. Nice mix for sure!

It's a similar deal for me now, then and throughout my music history. I haven't listened to the radio in ten years, but there is a bunch of newer stuff I dig.

Stoner/Doom/Sludge rock is putting out some great stuff right now IMO.

Newer bands like..

Baroness
Mastodon
Kylesa
Red Fang

And some older bands still killing it...

Melvins
Clutch
Primus
Faith No More

I think music is at the best point it's ever been at, due solely to the internet and youtube. The accessibility is greater than its ever been. Digital music is the cheapest it's ever been, and because of the ability to copy and trade via flash drives en sech you can grow your catalog faster than ever before. All that and the access to bands you'd never hear of without the net=best time for music ever IMHO

Music like Pearl Jam, STP, Nirvana, etc.. Where's the rock at today? Rap music by Kanye? Ice Cube would have made that dude curl up in a corner

I was never a huge fan of grunge.

I was mostly into punk and metal during that period.

Seeing em' here in a couple of weeks.

What did you think of Ghost?

They weren't bad. I tried to listen to them for a few weeks leading up to the show, but when they played I didn't recognize any of their stuff. Very theatrical.

Ya, very theatrical, even emo-ish to some degree. Love Metal.

They got some catchy tunes tho, and I dig the stage theatrics. Their 2015 CD Meliora, is pretty decent.
