How terrible this schedule really is. Of course I knew the schedule but now that's it's right around the corner and I'm making my travel plans it hit me. 3 games in 12 days then we hit the road for 6 of the next 8. Of those next 6 away games we have NE, KC, SD and the Bengals. My butt will be at the stadium only twice in two calendar months. In fact a little more than two months. After 31 years I can't remember such a terrible schedule.

That said the Broncos will be battle tested if you follow that train of thought but as a season ticket holder it's a terrible schedule.

In some ways the schedule is really tough, but in others we got a bit of a break. We get the 49ers coming off a short week. We get the Thursday night game against the Chargers at home. We get the long week (due to the Thursday night game) leading up to the game at New England. Then the next two road games are looking like two of our easier road matchups this season. We get the Bengals in primetime where they've really struggled the last few seasons. And we get to end the season at home against the Raiders, which is a nice lead in to the playoffs if we need a win.

That's not my point, as a ticket holder it sucks that we have two home games in two months. Yup it's front loaded and we still get 8 but personally I would much rather see two games a month and have it spread out. It will seem very weird and broken up during that span. Heck, I may forget the names of the people that sit around me.

But to your point, I don't see alot of positives to have 6 of 8 games on the road. 4 of those games are against good teams in tough places to play. In particular the back to back roadies at SD then Cincinnati and those games could have a ton riding on them. To me it's putting lipstick on a pig talking about the breaks during this span. Heck, the entire league is 39-51-1 on the road this season. I said a couple of weeks ago that the first three road games in this stretch don't look as daunting as they did when the schedule was first released. However, as an aggregate it's a tough, tough stretch. It's not easy winning on the road no mater who you play in this league and playing all these in a short period could take it's toll. The only positive I can see is the Broncos will be battle tested especially when we win the division. I'm not being gloom and doom, just pointing out the NFL did us no favors at all the last half of the season.

Sounds kinda like your doom and gloom to me HOF and a tad spoiled with tickets too. That`s a big :) But really,it is a tough rd ahead but nobody has it easy anymore. By the time the playoffs hit, every condender is going to be beat up regardless. Only those who suffered the least injuries will have a advantage somewhat. I like the possibility that folks will recognize what a tough achievent it was for Denver to win a SB with all that adversity. Will make it even sweeter when they do. Who wants their team ( Pats fans prob) to have an easy rd to SB and then hear all the flack about schedule, etc after anyway. Funny too by the way, watching nfl network and they commented about how the hell do the Pats keep getting home vs Broncos. They thought it was really strange ( without saying what they really thought, Belicheck)

Yeah, I'm sure I am spoiled with my tickets but I sacrificed a lot over the years especially when I was young. I did say we will be battle tested when we WIN :suds:the division. The schedule stinks though and I can't remember ever seeing this many road games over that many games.

Relax, I'm not trying to say that the schedule is easy or that the NFL did us a bunch of favors, I'm just saying that in spite of the difficult schedule there are positives that can be taken from it.

Well it's not quite 6 of 8 but in 2012 we did play 5 of 7 on the road. Won every single one of them, too.

If you go back a few more weeks that season, we actually played 7 out of 10 games on the road, starting in New England on October 7th and ending at Baltimore on December 16th.

I am relaxed. That doesn't mean I like the ridiculous schedule both personally or for the Broncos. It sounds as though we agree just not sure why you you have to be argumentative and keep going about small things or trying to put lip stick on a pig. In any case if you feel like a couple of days extra to kick off the road trip, a few extra hours here and there to recover during the stretch is a positive, that's fine.

Geez-us 6482. You would argue with a ham and cheese sandwich about whether it's a ham a cheese sandwich. It's a tough schedule that sucks for fans with tix and for the team PERIOD. Are you in a debate club and have to practice? You win! I'm sure due to all the rest and past history we should breeze right through that part of the schedule and no one should have the audacity to bring it up......

Um, I'm not even really arguing with you. I'm just trying to look on the bright side of things. I don't really consider that "putting lipstick on a pig," but whatever. :noidea:

As for the second part, all I was doing was simply pointing out that we had a similar stretch of road games two years ago. No, it's not exactly the same, but I don't see how mentioning it somehow means I'm "practicing for the debate club."

Look, we knew from the beginning of the season that the schedule was going to be very difficult. I'm sorry if pointing out that even in spite of the difficult schedule there are some things in it that are good for us (like the extra time off before the New England game, which IMO is a huge benefit) offends you. It truly wasn't my intent.

But this is a message board after all, I thought we were all here to give our opinions? That's what I enjoy about it anyway. I guess I just don't see much point in a message board where one person starts a thread and every other poster comes along after and says, "I agree." I think that would be pretty boring.

So you posted a thread about our difficult schedule, I came along and agreed but mentioned that there were some aspects of it that were beneficial. I kind of thought that was the general idea of message boards. You know, to continue the discussion.

I think it's funny how you say that you aren't arguing and then go on to write a 5 paragraph retort. You also say it's an opinion page isn't it? Yeah, not argumentative at all. You turned a rather simple thought that I would have thought was unanimous with Broncos fans and parsed it into something to debate. OoooK! As I said you win in fact go ahead and post again so you can have the last word as well.
