You cannot, nor will you ever be able, to win a title when you can't score the ball. It's not rocket science. 55 ppg vs good teams is never going to get it done.

Over the last 50 years champions have been 7x more likely to put up 80 or more than drop 60 or less. Also, 6x less likely to hold their opponents to 55 or less in the championship game.

I'll take the scorers any day.

True. I did. And they almost did. Winning a close game against Belmont didn't change my opinion on uva. And I was correct. They can't score enough vs good teams. Period

yes you are actually. The only game before today which I felt they were obviously not the better team was last week vs UNC. Could easily make the case that they were better than Duke & Ville in their 2 regular season losses

Today I thought that they played their worst game of the season. The whole offense stunk up the joint today, as evidenced by the pathetic 29.8% fg percentage and going 2-17 from 3 (Anderson, Brogdon and Perrantes combining for 1-14 from 3). Usually they will go four or five minutes with a scoring drought, so that first draught didn't surprise me. But to go another nine minutes without a single basket is unacceptable. We definitely need that one guy that can carry the team on his back when things get tough but I don't think that guy is on the roster and not sure if there will be one next year either. I really don't want to be another Villanova where you do good during the season but are constantly bowing out of the tournament early every year.

At least on a positive note (not much of one but I gotta take what I can get), we weren't the only 2 seed to get knocked out today with Kansas losing.
