Glad for this since he is a FA at the end of the year. Agree with Eph and Kelley in that it will be weird to face him in this series.

Maybe the Rangers can send Matt Moore back to Texas to pack Diekman's bags...or throw him in the deal for good measure.

no, but I can say that knowing full well that wouldn't be his salary if he comes back.

Where'd the number of 18 mil come from? Is he guaranteed that if he comes back, or what? Can't imagine we'd want him back at this number, but I also can't think Beltre would hold the team hostage either.

I'd like to see him stay around, especially since it's become clear he understands what the team is in the process of doing, and his overall role in this process.

I had Phils and Gabe Kaplan on the brain but Archer to Pirates. Seeing teams in the Pirates, Phils, Braves and Brewers in the buying mode that have been on the opposite end of the spectrum the past few years.

It's what he's making this year, if I'm not mistaken.

No, that is what we got this year. That was just a question. I would like for us to go full rebuild but I love Beltre so there are mixed feelings there.

Well Jake. Pack your bags. You have a long road ahead of you. From one dugout to the other.

The Crawler was right. He thought Diek would go.

Understand..........I would like to have him here next season, if for no other reason, to mentor. But the price has to be right.

And although his range has certainly decreased, what he gets to he throws em out, and his bat hasn't lost it either.

I kind of would like for him to retire and for us to move on with the rebuild and let the young guys play. This way Profar and IKF get more opportunities. But I will miss him.
We need him to retire because it is time to move on.

A farewell tour with Beltre at a reasonable price would be grreat.

I can agree with you on all points especially on the mentoring piece as he has a great clubhouse presence as well. The price will be important.
