You would think he could easily earn the #3 QB spot on the roster. The real question is would we keep 3 QB's though.

I think we will keep 3, even if he is on the practice roster most of the year, him and Gabbert as backups is better then McCoy last year. Again more depth at every position

Well, let's see what Gabbert can do in a more organized environment, on a better team, with a coach who knows how to work with quarterbacks.

Practice roster?

It really would be nice if you would stop being so aggressive and stop making such horribly declarative statements, especially considering your knowledge of the team, its players, and the way the NFL works.

Not a fan of Gabbert at all and never was but in terms of arm-talent no other backup comes close. Let's stop acting like he's got nothing to offer.

This Josh JOhnson signing kinda reminds me of the Seneca Wallace signing last year... He might have been brought in as competetion and also to force Gabbert to re-structure his contract...

I know this team very well, I know the players we drafted pretty well too. We do have better QB depth this year then we did last year with McCoy sorry ass. But just keep hating on Kaep tho, it what you do best on here

I anxiously await to see what Gabbert brings to this team in this environment, as I think he's going to surprise many this pre-season. My speculations of his contributions certainly extend deeper, but I'll wait as everything unfolds. Just let it be known for the record, I am very high on Gabbert's potential in this system.

Tough to judge Gabbert on how he played with Jacksonville. He didn't have much to work with. I think he will be a fine back up for us. He now has a line to protect him.

again he's a backup... big deal but also not very earth shattering....

He was awful as a QB with his decision making, execution and focus IMO in the Jags games I've seen... OL, WR, scheme... they have their share but Gabbert was awful in his own right.
