I love how Cub fans continue to believe that Schwarber is a viable excuse for an outfielder.
Because Dexter Fowler is the epitome of defensive excellence.

Disagree. Arrieta/Lester have been meh, Lackey/Hendricks are hurt (and the former was god awful when he was on the mound), Montgomery/Anderson have been crap and Butler can't even reliably go 5+. It's not the worst rotation in the NL by any means, but there's certainly room for improvement. The offense has been a pretty big disappointment this season as well, though at least they've shown reason to be optimistic (105 wRC+ over the last 30 days).

They probably would win their division without making this trade. I believe they are in panic mode.Maybe so, but they wisely realized its such a winnable division, one they will probably win because of this move

Nothing like giving up a HR to the only guy on the Red Sox that doesnt suck
So horrific
It seems that management lacks confidence in the team.
You should be embarrassed they gave up any runs to the Red Sox.
You should also be embarrassed for posting this in a thread that has nothing to do with Yankees-Red Sox.

Get back to me when the Cubs fail to win their division.Would you have confidence in Mike Montgomery, Eddie Butler, Brett Anderson's corpse, or John Lackey?
They're getting a very good starting pitcher that's under control through 2020. The Cubs aren't building for the future, they're looking to win now and over the next few years. Quintana gives them a better chance to do so.
