He was the kind of ball player every fan wants on his team.

If I saw Pito at the airport - I would be full crazed fan - the smile, the handshake - autograph request - the selfie - and a salute.

Jose played hard 100% of the time - he played hurt - he tried to get better every day - making himself into an above average defensive 1st baseman. He was a clutch and reliable hitter.

Abreu stands shoulder to shoulder with Paulie and Frank in my esteem.

I rarely root for ex-Sox players - that's the selfish in me. But I'm pulling for Pito to have a great season and help his team tremendously. If my boys can't get a ring, I honestly wouldn't mind the Astros pulling a twofer for Jose's sake.
