Yep, our WR room is solid. Julio doesn't fit.

I disagree. We are a Tom Brady away from a SB.
There's a few positions i still have questions on before I go that route. but in this thread we were specifically talking about julio jones. adding him at what the falcons want will not make this a championship caliber club.

I wouldnt do the trade but if the defense does what it did last year ranked #2. Adding Julio to our offense should make our offense top 10. So is a top defense and a top 10 offense equal a championship caliber club? You could make the argument that the answer is yes. Im not saying Fitz is a top 10 QB but with the weapons he would have and his experience he could do some major damage especially adding Julio.

Reports are saying ATL was offered a first round pick in 2022. So that would be the starting point. Its fun to think about if we did get Julio. If it did happen we would have a better offense than Dallas' and would almost guarantee another division championship. If Rodgers doesn't come back to GB, why not us for a conference championship???

We are much better off keeping the picks in 2022 than getting Julio this season. We are already deep at WR now. Is Julio still Julio? I would venture to say he is far from it.

sure the offense would be better. previous regimes would probably have pulled the trigger. Ron isn't going to give up a 1st rd pick for a 32 year old receiver on the decline.

i could be talked into a 4th but no lower than 5. but someone already is willing to give the falcons a 1st.
then let them make the cerrato/allen move . if we are going to give up picks it has to be for a young , franchise qb not for an 32 wr .

i think its their asking price . i dont think a team actually offered that because the trade would be done

If the first round pick is #32 then it doesnt matter. lol. I know we wont do it but I could see it. Our first round pick would be in the 20's if we acquired Julio.

I dont think any teammoffered the falcons a first rounder for Jones. If ao, then the deal would have been done already.

Teams just complered a draft that was deep with wr prospects. Now, I have been wrong before, but I cant think of a single team that is a wr away from contention, that would trade a first round pick for Jones.

i wouldn't want Julio here, BUT i think we may be underestimating how good he still is, on a team where he won't be triple teamed

Julio Jones Trade Rumors: Falcons Would Accept 'Hard' 2nd-Round Draft PickJOSEPH ZUCKERMAY 31, 2021354

Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images

A second-round pick might be enough to snag Julio Jones from the Atlanta Falcons.

NBC Sports' Peter King reported the Falcons are looking for a trade in which they wouldn't be on the hook for any of the $38 million he's still owed in base salaries.

"I was told a while ago by a source I trust that the Falcons would accept a hard second-round pick in 2022 (no condition on Jones’ playing time) with no responsibility to pay Jones any of the $38 million he has coming," King wrote.

ESPN's Dianna Russini reported at least one team has included a 2022 first-rounder in a trade package for the seven-time Pro Bowler. King spoke to a general manager, however, who questioned whether if that was an option for the Falcons right now.

"If Atlanta had that offer, they’d have made the deal and just said we’ll announce it next week," the GM said.

King's report also aligns somewhat with what Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reported Sunday. Florio reported some around the NFL believe the Tennessee Titans will send a second-round pick to Atlanta for Jones.

At this point, Jones' exit feels inevitable. Whether he was aware he was speaking publicly on cable television, there's probably no going back after he left no doubt on Undisputed about his desire to leave.

The 32-year-old's contract situation might be complicating matters somewhat slightly. He counts for $19.3 million in both 2022 and 2023, and his $22 million average salary is already the second-highest for a wide receiver, and he might soon be looking for one last big payday.

The aforementioned Titans, for example, don't have the $15.3 million in salary cap space—just $3.6 million—to assume all of his guaranteed money right now.

According to Russini, the Seattle Seahawks have also weighed a move for Jones, with him and Russell Wilson already talking about a potential collaboration. Like the Titans, the Seahawks would need to free up a lot of cash since they have just $4.7 million in cap space.

Giving up a second-round pick for a wideout who was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame's All-2010s team is a no-brainer. When healthy, Jones has been one of the most consistent and productive pass-catchers in the NFL.

But that second-rounder isn't the only cost that would be associated with a move for him this offseason.

How much defensive improvement is fair to

Like I said, I dont think any team will pay that price. Too high a pick and too much guaranteed money.
